PS Latin was also relevant when considering that France and French didn't really exist at this time. There were several languages in Frankia including German tongues, Breton, Oil, Occitan etc. the Lingua Franca was Latino influenced Parisian French I believe. Many languages were readily interchangeable and commonly understood however, such as English and Danish or Italian and French.

that's why I was wondering about it, in 17-18th century nobility, French was the common language, but since there were multiple French languages in the middle ages, Latin would seem an obvious choice as it was universal.

Yet all the Latin languages are strongly similar.
So most of the Latin languages work.

I know I stated at first that I didn't need any, but that was since I believed I would screw over the entire order of battle by splitting up even more troops, but since the assault hasn't commenced yet, do you think you can squeeze out an extra roll for me?

Also, guys, if you're in one part of the battle, you do not know what is happening elsewhere in the battle, unless you are able to send a runner successfully.
You can attempt to send runners at any 'lull' in combat (ie, when you yourself are not engaged or very very close to combat).

damn, sucks to charge without a commander.
So how does this actually work, we do stuff (e.g. 'Godfrey orders 4 towers to the wall') and then BF rolls for the succes? and I just fill in with some personal thoughts?

Well, first I'm going to do some 'skirmishing' rolls for the Crusader siege weapons and the Byzantine defense weapons (mostly trebuchets).
Hopefully the Crusader ones will make some holes, while the Byzantines' don't do too much damage.

You don't need orders if you don't have troops.
Just jump in anywhere.

Hell, even people who have troops can decide to not obey them.

True, right now I'm semi waiting for LM orders where to position and then I'll go. Only because it's how I'm trying to build my character. Otherwise id be seigeing without hesitation!

I will probably just give the orders for the siege towers to go forth. Bohemond wants Simon de Provence with him and his assault through the Lycus hole once its made. Everyone else can make for the towers or follow Bohemond

You can join any assault. I just assigned people who had troops. Those who don't have troops/haven't been assigned can go to any of the three assault zones (Philip, Roger or Bohemond's assault areas)
