I might as well say this.

With personal experience and watching other games, I believe it will be the Emperor's right to either continue agnatic-cognatic primogeniture (if said player wishes to continue being the Emperor) or nominate another player's char to succeed him (if said player does not wish to be Emperor or feels that they do not have the time to continue roleplaying as the Emperor). If chosen, the nominated successor will of course need the approval of the Haute Coure.

I have noticed a lot of times people get bored of the top position and just leave, forcing Mods and Players to make a mad dash to find a legitimate successor or cause a cruddy civil war. This will help ensure smooth transition between rulers and give other players a chance to become Emperor if the current player does not desire to continue roleplaying as the Emperor upon his true heir's succession. But also will create good storyline for those in favor of the nominated successor, the true heir or those who wish to see another Emperor upon the throne. So it can still lead to civil war/succession wars and provide interesting detail to have a change of power between different houses.

War plans, praying, anything pre-battle.

I'll make the battle thread in a few days, hopefully having some more players.

Right now, the siege rp is not up. We can rp in the siege camp until BF posts the siege and assault thread.

So we can only participate in the siege camp thread for now. Once the battle thread is up, we will all be allowed to rp in it.

Also, guys, I highly suggest actually RPing, even in the camp thread.
This game is RP-driven, not by skills.
Don't expect great rewards for little creativity/little writing.

^This is very true. We want people to be creative and be happy to write a lot. If you don't give much, the game won't give much to your char in return.

For instance, we don't want:
Person A: Hey wanna kill the Emperor? I don't have a reason, but hey, its something to do
Person B: Sure sounds good

We want people to be in depth when it comes to plots, battles and everything. Give reason to actions and give reactions as well. That way it can be enjoyable for everyone.

Units list has been updated, folks!

All units that had the name Frankish will have the name Feudal instead. This way, people can give their troops their own nationality such as Mounted 'English' Knights or 'Sicilian' Men-at-Arms.

Who wants to make a secret plan with Philippe d'Alencon to attack the Blachernae district before dawn on the day of battle?
We'll attempt to sneak around in the dark while the siege engines are cracking away at the walls, and attack the Koiliomene Gate.

Look at this map for reference. Blachernae is at the top, and Koiliomene is at the top of that, quite weak.
We'd have to be lucky in our sneak though, otherwise we'll be facing too many Greeks.

But if we're successful, , the Palace of Blachernae is our reward.
It's the current Emperor's estate in fact, and has been for most of the recent dynasty as well.
There's tons of churches there too.


I think most of the land force will be assaulting the Fifth Military Gate, around the River Lycus.
If you can weaken the walls that run over the river, that could be a good spot to attack.
