    Union Officer, NCO and uniform pipingadd on for 3.5

    Hi I have beenworking on a mod that adds unique officers to many of the units. The officer orsenior enlisted will have the correct color insignia, chevron and uniformpiping corresponding with his unit. Ifanyone is interested I can release it as an add-on. Any suggestions are welcome. This is what I have so far
    Guide:
    Officers

    Enlisted


    New Unit
    Regimental Colonel
    Colonel and sergeant major
    Light blue chevron and officer insignia
    Very Small command unit, can inspire like general but nohorse

    Infantry units:
    Changed to captain and first sergeant
    Light blue chevron and officer insignia

    Generals:
    AddedStaffofficers with black backing on insignia

    Marines
    Added Marine Major
    Marine Sergeant major

    Artillery units
    Changed to Lt. colonel with red insignia and piping

    Cavalry
    Heavy Cavalry- addedCaptain, first sergeant
    Yellow insignia, chevrons and yellow piping on uniforms
    Dragoons- addedCaptain, first sergeant
    Orange insignia, chevrons and orange piping on uniforms
    Mounted rifles-added Captain, first sergeant
    Green insignia, chevrons and green piping on uniforms

    Sharpshooters-added Captain, first sergeant
    Green insignia, chevrons and green piping on uniforms

    Fixed disappearingofficer insignia

    Wow this is great work. I espassialy like the Idea of thesmall command unit which can inspire. But i would love to see them with horses and the ability to dismount. I really like this idea because in my main campaign i have only a few generals left and no option to recruit new ones.

    The Marine Officer looks great by the way i like the improvement.
    Overall great Idea would love to see this finished.

    Hi itleonard!

    Very nice work you did there. But since the last released version we have added some new officers to both sides (several dress variations, officers with hats, new zouave officer, but not the marine and sharpshooter I see you did).

    I would suggest you take a look at the last stable version with the changes it has (link in private message), and possibly adapt your pack for this latest version (keeping in mind that we're trying to keep the adding of new textures to a minimum, because we are already overbloated and causing memory issues, hence reusing same textures for more than one unit, etc in the last version)? If you wish to do some more unit editing (code stuff) work, we've still got a list of things to finish, and not enough volunteers to do it... PM me.

    But some officer kepis should be remodelled a little bit,I think. Here are some examples.

    Currently there does not seem to be a single modeller available to help with the mod, so any idea who'd do that?

    This looks very interesting indeed. Maybe replace the ivory with "ore" (from mines) or "machinery" or "consumer goods" (from towns) as an additional resource?

    I would like to request that this becomes an addon....These uniforms and such are really epic, and are pretty good for historical accuracy. Is it done? or is it still in dev?

    I would like to second the opinion of AlphaxCentauri (great user name BTW). These textures are extremely well rendered and the level of detail regarding the uniform trim colors and rank epaulets is exceptional. I particularly like the idea of a regimental or perhaps brigade commander, who could be delegated with command responsibilities in a particular sector of the battlefield. This would really enhance the overall experience of ACW in my opinion as generals do seem to be in relatively short supply and to be able to have an intermediate commander a la ETW's generic recruitable generals would really enhance this already magnificent mod. Any word on the status of your work itleonard?

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...ated-3-5-beta2 Take a look at this thread, this will have some more info on he "Regimental Colonel" unit as well as some other concepts and ideas I came up with. I was waiting on the release of the updated version of this mod, however I am not sure what the status is on the next release. If anyone knows please let me know. As far as Additional command unit, The regimental colonel will be part of a field commander class. Each colonel created will be named after an actual colonel during the conflict.     itleonard has decided not to cooperate with ACW's other modders so we have dome some of these things differently.
    A completely new set of officers and NCOs has been made and implemented now in ACW 3.6
