Because I have developed a habit of it, and I cannot get rid of it no matter how hard I try. In 2010 and 2011, I had to stay awake for days studying. Maintaining the reputation of class topper isn't easy, you know.
Once the exams were over, I got interesting games, like Tropico 4, and found my old disk of Simcity 4, and I was already a TW addict. So when my exams were over, I continued to keep awake playing PC games and reading books from my huge personal library, even though I had no need to. I still do that, and I read historical articles all night. For example, last night I was reading about the life of Marcus Aurelius and his tutor Fronto.
This helped me last year when exams came again, but after that it is again my usual routine of keeping awake. And once I am in the game, I cannot stop playing it until it is at least a 7-8 hours' continuous session.
In other words, I have ruined myself.
About the hallucinations, it is not from TW games but from the history articles and books I read on a daily basis. The historically accurate movies and documentaries, and Europa Barbarorum (
) do have some influence. For example, when I am awake for 3 days and I am going out of my room, I spot a Legionary standing guard at my gate. When I wash my face and come back, it has vanished.
