    I'm getting an inconsistant crash:

    21:26:15.078 [system.rpt] [error] Uh oh. This isn't good. No idea why, but exiting now. Sorry pal.
    It's looking like something building related and it always happens just after a rebel turn, likely right when the player's turn starts. It's not always the same building icon that's loaded just before the crash though so I can't seem to pinpoint it to a single building. Any idea what might be causing this?

    hmm ,what turn is it happening at, and as what faction? :O im gonna assume twilight

    It happens with any faction I play as. The turn is never the same, but it's generally between turn 5 and 15. I've rarely gotten to turn 20 before this crash happens.

    The gap is too long between 21:26:13.875 and 21:26:15.078. So the crash would not be related to that UI file but to what the program is trying to do afterwards. What are you doing when the game crashes?

    I'm not able to do anything, it crashes at the start of my turn right after the rebel faction finishes theirs.

    I see. In this case it would be something related to player's turn start. Can be something with the script? Do you have any errors in the log (entire log)?

    Interestingly that the game opens ui files during the AI's turn.

    #mesoamerican_heavy_armourer_select.tga.ddsim seeing this over and over again in that text...maybe its a texture path thats typed incorrectly?i dunno ill poke around and see later if there is something mistyped..i had a crash problem related to textures because of one stupid little typo, on a factions turn that was trying to spawn units with the miss-typed textures.

    but as i see it, that may be a problem, seeing as the onyl files listed are all textures files, and nothing else. So its worth a look into ^_^'

    it can be a spawned ai army?just an idea as i got this too in mine personal mod,and discovered it was a ai army spawned wrong.

    as i good remember,but it was some time a go, ai armies where attacking a settlement,and it where three ai armies in the same time ,with siege equipment ,two generals where scripted too attack a settlement , like script command ; siege_settlement Damjan Juda, Ragusa, maintain

    mine error was that their can only be one general with script siege_settlement Damjan Juda, Ragusa, maintain

    but maybe scripted army character has no name, can also make game crash, our the scripted army is attacking has own settlement and make game crash manny, things can crash game with scripted armies and then there is no log telling you so.

    but it was with me surly a sripted army that was making the game crash.

    xxx you can do command console toggle_fow and see the slave faction do his turn and when it ctd,before it you will see normally the army(our armies) that is making the ctd and see what is wrong,but the turns too see can be goin fast lol.

    this is al i can say as i am not a real modder lol,but i think like the poster before me it got something too do with spawning army\armies.

    yes, i noticed this too. I bumped up the Stalfos Spawn time to turn 10, but when they spawn, the general has no name, and crashes when attacking anything. lol, yay scripts!
    But Ai could certainly be it, and nothing to do with textures.

    I disabled all armies spawned for the rebel faction and I think you are right. I've made it much further into a campaign without having a crash so I'm certain it's related to the rebels. I'm going to guess the problem is with names since I spawn some rebel captains that are supposed to be wildlife with no names. I'll probably know more in a day or so.

    EDIT: would moving an admiral or boat unto land in the campaign script cause a crash?

    yes it would. I tried doing that cuz i had Rebels ships blockading my ports for whatever reason, so i tried moving them to a remote corner of the map, to no avail and crash. but at least you are getting somewhere now

    That log throws out so many errors that I am wondering that the game doesn't crash every turn. You definitly need to check all those script errors that call for absent characters (or may be missing names?). EDB also needs to be looked after. Usually those building errors are not fatal, but they can produce trouble as the game proceeds and city come to upgrade.

    I've added a condition now to check if those characters are alive. I'm not too worried about the upgrading since upgrading settlements is disabled in this mod, or will they still cause problems regardless?

    i really dont have any idea :/
    perhaps the AI is trying to build something that is glitchy, or doesnt exist? Like its is trying to make some kind of barracks, and when the next turn rolls around, the game crashes? I'm just throwing out ideas. Perhaps its trying to load a mesh or Texture that isnt there for a settlement that you made?

    I don't think it's buildings, I think it has something to do with the units they start out with in the descr_strat file. When I remove those the crashes completely stop. I don't think anything is wrong with their entries though:

    hmm, maybe. You try removing Armies so that only 1 army spawns for each faction? Maybe see if that is indeed the case. but in the current release, there are captains with the same name all the time D=

Now, the units themselves would hardly be the problem because in this case the game wouldn't load at all but throw you back to main menue with a proper error message. It would rather be something the AI is trying to do with said units - what also would explain that the crash inconsistant (descr_strat is always the same and that way would always produce the error).

    Try the following: use toggle_fow and set the display to "follow AI movements". Then you have to watch the AI until the crash happens. Check which stack is causing the trouble and remove it.
