Hey all,
I just wanted to ask if anyone was using any rules for NTW2 yet?
Personally I always require that all players buy a General unit as their first unit, to act as the general of their army. Nothing looks quite as ridiculous as seeing an infantry unit with a General in it
Also, we generally play that you may not target the opposing General with artillery fire unless it is canister; if he gets that close, he asks for it, but who wants to have their general get wacked in the first two minutes by cannon balls?
I am also wondering if maybe the defenders should traditionally only spend 90 percent of their florins. Often a defender will have a few advantages...
1) The defender doesnt have to march his troops anywhere really, thus keeping them fresh.
2) The defender doesnt have to leave advantageous ground, which can often force the attacker to come to him and attack from less advantageous ground.
3) The defender will have his artillery within bombardment range for most of the game, and once the attacker gets closer then the defenders canister is within range. For the attacker to do this they need to move their artillery up, thus making it worthless for a chunk of time as it cannot fire while moving, and a good defender will destroy it as it moves up.
Anyway, what do people generally require in their games?
