The development team for Amazon Total War has just finished a meeting and decided to delay the publishing of Amazons Total War 9.0 by 3 months. This is due to the investigation time needed of the Attila Total War as a possible game platform for the migration.

Sorry, been busy on real development stuff and didn't have chance to post the latest releases.

The latest 8.1L rev 6 has the barbarian heavy units as well as the amazon steppe and desert units revamped.

You will also see changes in rebel faction which has different units charts and more aggressive in attacking regular.

This is to announce 8.1N upload has started to complete conversion of all models to future game engine compatible format.

We are slowly porting current RTW models to MBA format so the target game engine platform can have a complete library.

Since the team continue to discover models which are not conforming to MBA format, we have to make another release, you can find it at the OP or ModDB.

New release has been published on ModDB. which has the units not avail to campaign mode fixed for Eastern Celts, Suebii, and Western Celts.

Latest Amazons TW is being uploaded to ModDB and other sites, the release resolve the Quest Bugs for the Far East Celt whereas in the old release the quest facilities can be created at enemy's territories, whereas the new code won't allow it to happen, unless the territories are already in the hands of the Far Eastern Celt.

There were also numerous changes to allow Far Eastern Celt to recruit women units as the faction is severely depleted of menfolks after the war with the Huns.

8.1Q Release is now on ModDB where the ptolemaic egyptian can adopt the Meroitic tradition and turn Amazon-like.

The Meroe Kingdom of Kush has been well known for its female rulers, not queens, as the term of queen is defined as the wife of a king, but female rulers who take in prince-consort.

Initial release now has Amazon units for Ptolemaic Egypt, follow up release will have refined AI by Celeste to allow quest like Amazonian Egypt.

All the strategical Amazon characters and agents must be converted to MBA modular format so as to be portable.


In addition, numerous Armenian changes have been made, and bugs resolved.

Also the animation for rebel generals are now gender neutral, as the rebel leader can either a woman or a man.

Huge changes have been made in the 8.1S_rev 3 where a CTD was uncovered and resolved, it has to do with named character using a ballista carriage as the commanding. unit.


In addition, numerous changes to the strategic animation have been taking place. This completely revamps the look and the feel of the game.

New 8.1T changes are now in. This release aims to replace all models which has "stick figure" edgy limbs with natural limbs and body. This only applies to models created for Amazons Total War, not the vanilla models.


These changes so far have impacted 217 units, and some are still being adjusted or refined. In addition, models with both infantry and cavalry can now use the same skin. Before the infantry model is different from the cavalry one because of the stick figure limbs looks awful on walking animations.

This release has new unit icon and unit_info files, also the description are updated to be as accurate as possible. We are also receiving work from foreign languages (we are in UK and US, it is none English) so we are checking if we can have up to date Russian and Spanish descriptions as well.
There are also some straggling models which need to be converted to MBA so we can properly launch the new platform. Still not sure about M2TW or Attila TW. Some even suggested to use Warhammer TW.
So the actual designation is still not decided pending the dev-team's evaluation.

Amazons Total War 8.1 has been tested in both 32 and 64 bit version, no animation errors were found. So far, all errors reported were either user configuration issues or something the development team cannot replicate.

The latest 8.1X release has Pea's animation textures to eliminate artificial shadows on the skin. We are also focusing on the last few model re-designs to complete the MBA conversion.

This will make the porting easier and faster.

And no, unfortunately, the team is still divided on which platform to go to. Rome II is definitely not the top choice, but we need more open environment for AI script and custom configuration similar to MTW II but with naval battle capabilities.
