I have a feeling that Thibaut Courtois will be the clear no. 1 by next year's World Cup in anycase - he looks top class that lad. Will he be at Athletico next season? However, I think Mignolet has a fair chance of being the senior keeper at Anfield as I don't think Rodgers fancies Reina if I'm being quite honest.

No chance of Courtois ousting Cech from his position, so why not leave the guy to Atletico Madrid where he can work wonders, play in the CL and be the top keeper?

Why? Courtois is a great keeper and Cech is already 33. Courtois has a very bright future and he is only 21.

Cech is still one of the world's best goalkeepers and will be for another 2 years at least. Look at Rogerio Ceni, 39 and still top class.

Could of used a better example, like Buffon. But I agree about Cech, I still think he's the best keeper in the BPL, and will remain so for at least a few more years. So keeping Courtois, as good as he is, is pretty stupid, and loaning him to Atletico is a no-brainer.

I rather have two playing goalkeepers in my national team than one playing and one of the bench. You never know what might happen. But yeah for the moment its obvious he should stay in madrid. With Marin loaned out, de bruyne might get more opportunities.

I think Erebus Pasha meant that Courtois will be Belgium's clear first choice, rather than Chelsea's first choice. In which case, it doesn't really matter what Mignolet is doing.

Cech is 31. Anyways, Courtois is not yet good enough to replace the czech.

Yes, i was hintng at that too. Its better to have a lot of competition in your national squad. Besides, its still a year, who knows. He might get injured, or crisis of confiance or get a red card and miss the first few matches (like Arshavin did). In that case, its alway better to have a runner-up that plays regulary, even though Courtois is obvious nr.1

@Bright: Goalkeepers go a long way, so unless Cech has a really bad year, he'll probably stick around a year or 2-3

Atlético Madrid will have Champions League competition this year, why would anyone want to leave for a henhouse like Chelski?

Atletico is a great club as well that players love to be in. It's some sort of the Spanish version of Liverpool (as if Liverpool was not Spanish enough already xD). The fans are great.

Gutted Mr Moyes has targeted his old world-class left-back. I don't see him leaving us though for at least 16 million. Felliani will go to but all I hope for is that he isn't heading North London way.

I really hope we don't buy Kone either. 5 million for a 29 year old is too much for a team that has a tight chairman. Hopefully we can get Honda and Redmond although I think the Japanese maestro will go to Milan.

Apparently Lewandowski won't be leaving Dortmund any more, and Henrik Mkhtaryan will be joining as well.

You mean, the Arsenal Summer Sale?

Anyways, do you think anyone will be interested in Fred this summer? Looked very good in the Confeds cup and has a buy-out clause of £1.7m

Apart from Arshavin and Denilson who returned to Russia and Brazil respectively, Arsenal won't be doing any sales this summer. And Koscielny is off limits to anyone, since Wenger considers him crucial.

Wouldn't call it big but it's a start I suppose.
