The whole affair could very well end in agony.

so Chelsea just signed Schurrle, which brings the total tally of strikers to 4. they are also heavily linked with Cavani, if it goes through that would make it 5 strikers. why does Chelsea need 5 strikers? or are they planning to offload Torres and Demba Ba?

Though Schurrle can play as striker, I'd rather say him to be a winger, left one to be precise. So I'm taking he'll be a regular substitute for Hazard.

And since it's Mourinho, I doubt Torres will have much playtime next season.

Torres and Demba Ba will have to fight for a starting spot as striker, unless Mourinho will buy a striker.

He probably will sign another one, most people say it's Cavani.
I have to say though that he was utter shite in the Confederations cup game. Mind you it was against Spain so it's probably unfair to judge him against them.

With Mourinho in the bench... Torres better finds a confortable seat.

Cavani is unlikely to leave, he's such an important piece to the team, I doubt it. And he prefers Real Madrid.

Will Arsenal get Higuaín for a humungous pile of pounds sterling? I wonder.

A number of bookies have stopped taking bets on his next club. Of course that could still mean someone will scupper the deal but most big clubs seem to be looking elsewhere. I'm a little excited by the prospect, after a few thumping Euro beat backed vids on you tube I've convinced myself he's the best striker in Europe. The stats even say he is...

Great transfer if you get him.

Higuain himself said he would leave, so it's a given that he will no longer be in Real Madrid next season.

But where he goes is still in the balance, because Juventus apparently want him as well.

    Confirmed he's joining Arsenal.

Can't wait to see him playing on the wing next season!

Juve can't afford him (they offered 18m, way below Real asking of 25.5m), So Juve turned their attention to Tevez (8m). Arsenal are meeting them somewhere between, 22m has been quoted. It's still not confirmed, but looks increasingly close.

Hmm, checks date, 21st June and Arsenal making a signing? Good grief, and a good one at that. Maybe the season will not be a simple Utd, City, Chelsea progression? Well here's to summer dreams before autumn and winter reality sets in.

I thought that last year all Arsenal were really lacking was a second decent CB and a 20+ goal a season striker. I think Higuain qualifies as the latter so a great signing indeed in my opinion!

Very disappointing if this is the case.

If it's Tevez....another old has-been with mental difficulties. *sigh*

Juventus are so cheap, I can't understand how they're not willing to splash any serious cash at all.
I was quite shocked to hear about Higuain sealing a deal to Arsenal, quite an impressive statement from Arsenal I would say.

Werder seem close to a deal with Inter for Caldirola (probably a loan) - I'm very excited for this transfer, we need a good replacement for Sokratis! We're also in-touch with Udinese's Vydra (was on loan at Watford), but Di Canio wants him for Sunderland, or so they're saying.

Also, how are things around here guys? Long time no see/chat/text (been stalking the forums for a while, haven't posted in ages though...damn exams)

Yes, well, since I can't see Huddersfield winning three in a row in the near future we should support someone other than a millionaires' toy. We can even get to see some good football while we're at it.
