Game Crashes at Campaign Launch

my Hyrule Total War game crashes every time i try to start a campaign. no loading screen, i click "Start Campaign" and it will freeze and stops responding
any help would be great.

it takes a long time to load the campaign when you begin a campaign, just wait a while it should start up

I went to the error log right after words and it said all kinds of file are missing, although I downloaded core files and 2.1 itself from the link given by undyingnephalim

That's normal. Apparently lots of things are missing, though it will still play. :p
Just give it a few minutes to load while the trforce is spinning.

There isn't a spinning Triforce but I will be more patient next. I'm about to head to class so I'll report back about 5:00 after I try it.
