I thought Alexander wiped out Thebes except for the home of a poet called Pindar.
"Pompeius, after having finished the war against Mithridates, when he went to call at the house of Poseidonios, the famous teacher of philosophy, forbade the lictor to knock at the door, as was the usual custom, and he, to whom both the eastern and the western world had yielded submission, ordered the fasces to be lowered before the door of science."
Pliny the Elder, Naturalis Historia, 7, 112
^After Alexander the Great died, Thebes was re-established in 315 or 316 BC[7] by Cassander, perhaps in his desire for fame.[8] However Thebes never returned to its former prominence or power. It was besieged and taken by Demetrius Poliorcetes in 293 BC, and again after a revolt in 292 BC. This last siege was difficult and Demetrios was wounded, but finally he managed to break down the walls and to take the city once more, treating it mildly despite its fierce resistance. The city recovered its autonomy from Demetrios in 287 BC, and became ally with Lysimachus and the Aetolian League.
It might go something like this...
Corinth: NE region of "Sparta" province
Thebes: W region of Attica or SE region of Larrisa
Aetolian: S region of Larissa
Achean: N region of Sparta
