I hope that I have written the Ikanians well. My hope is that they are such experienced soldiers, they barely need to communicate any more, functioning more like automatons. Sort of like the Necrons, in many ways.

In my mind, they've always been doubledrawn, although if you can make the scenario more interesting with a single drawn, then I don't see why not!

Judging by the picture for the chariots under the roster, they're definitely doubledrawn.

For the longest time(when I was under the assumption that the meta would be ala DKS1, as in, by Soul Level, not Memory) I wore Agdayne's gear with a Varangian helmet.

Of course, eventually, the community figured Soul Memory out and word got to me that I was sticking at SL150 for no reason. I was at the top tier of SM, and thus being placed in combat against SL400 guys in full Havel's because LOL STAT POINTS.

I had put too much time into that character, so I did not give up and make a new one. Instead, I summoned my friend who had a mule and made him drop me a bajillion souls. I was still at a disadvantage, but now I could kill most guys in under 20 friggin hits. I ended that character around 280-something.

Soul Memory-based multiplayer is an improvement, in my opinion.
The newer patches have made it so you can also tell where your general soul memory tier is supposed to be, ala the orange/red ring around level pictures in the Bonfire travel menu.

Although.. I'm a little confused what you think wearing Varangian Helm and Agdayne's Set has to do with Soul Memory and Level.
Like.. Even if the multiplayer was based on level, why would you think wearing lower level equipment (as opposed to full Havel, lol) would be viable?

Have you played the new version, SotFS? It just released on Steam 2 days ago.
WAY harder than the original version, christ. I'm actually getting frustrated. Which I suppose is a good thing?
This is how I felt when playing the original Dark Souls I, so perhaps this is the difficulty that the original release of Dark Souls II should have had?
Heide's Tower for example is way harder, and has a dragon in it. There's also these insane NPC invasions now; NPC invasions are no joke now, these guys will kill you.
I got invaded by the Forlorn guy just a while ago, I thought it was a player, so that should stand testimony to the difficulty.
