i went to reskin a unit because i figured practicing on a mod was better than the original rome and i got this error

could someone please tell me what this means? or what i did wrong because i cant get TE to play battles at all now

i doubt u mad etextures 512 by 512 instead of 256 by 256

n do u have graphic card

i don know about video card
i have got onboard
so to increase video memory
i go in bios and allot more memory to gpu from the ram

the skin which u changed
whats the resolution ??

i changed the principes skin and all i did was change some of the red to black on the shield and thats all

try to save it again {u get error only when u try to include the princeps in custom battle ???}
as dds with generating mip map option on .

im going to try and resave the original principe first and i didnt understand a word of "as dds with generating mip map option on ."
and i havent tried a custom battle without them, and goscinio i used gimp to edit it so i have no idea what that pic you posted is of

Then I advise you to look at this tutorial for skinning with Gimp.

hmm ill retry everything and let you know if it worked although ive read the tutorial and even printed it out so i could read it while i was working on skinning

well what goschino has shown in the image
for saving the texture
click save as
name same
type dds
those options must be selected while saving
[i think only save will not work
u have to do save as with same name ]

well now TE runs but the pricipes are now INVISIBLE!!!!

An alpha channel problem, most likely. I had the first error you reported before, it's because of not saving correctly. I have never used Gimp before, but as far as I know, Photoshop is the better tool.
You have to save the skin with mip-maps and alpha channel turned on. If you can adjust the DDS settings in Gimp, try to adjust them according to the pic Goscinio posted. Good luck,

ok i went to resave the original skin back in and it remained invisible and i saved it as the same name and what not
i used gimp to edit and please only post if you can help me
