Thread: Margaret Thatcher Dead

  1. #1

    Default Margaret Thatcher Dead

Baroness Thatcher died this morning following a stroke, her spokesman Lord Bell said.
Lord Bell said: "It is with great sadness that Mark and Carol Thatcher announced that their mother Baroness Thatcher died peacefully following a stroke this morning.
"A further statement will be made later."
Not much else being said as there are no articles written yet. But it is certain that she has died. She was 87. A highly polarizing and controversial leader in modern British history. Half of the UK may mourn while the other half may well celebrate.

The conservative inside me weeps. The rational part weeps too, but only because it didn't happen earlier.

I'm not going to say "good riddance", but I do hope she doesn't get a state funeral. Looking at the list of others who have received one, I don't believe she measures up to any of them, and she was far too divisive.

That would be the most ironic thing ever wouldn't it?

Anyways, she died too early and too free.

She ruled by ideology. Her successors seemed to rule by opinion polls.

Congratulations on being the first person to lose perspective over the death of a human being.

She had no respect for the Liverpool supporters who died and their family's so why should we cry for her.

Why the negativity? I thought she was a political Icon in the UK?

Isn't it widely accepted that she saved the UK from budget deficits and was a very buisness friendly politician and a strong leader that solved the great Falkland crisis in a way that gave Brittons a certain sense of national pride?

Wasn't she a great crisis manager?

Because two wrongs dont make a right, amazed that I have to spell that one out.

People you might not have liked her policies or governance but she was the leader of a conservative party not hitler.
