You mean the first two 700 MB files from Infracta?

Everything that came after XP is garbage, though (more so, I mean). Either go to Linux, or stay with XP. Junk like Vista or 7 might not even run on his computer because they require 300 GB of RAM. I've seen the requirements for some applications and they always require more RAM if used on Vista or 7.
Ok, here are some things I'm puzzled about:
Why does the General's Escort have missile attack 1?
Why don't Jager Militia have free_upkeep_unit?
Why does Drainage give -1.5% to population growth?
How do I use Supply Wagons and can I resupply from ships? Should I use two generals when marching an army in an enemy territory and besieging? One guy besieges for a while then the second guy arrives with supplies and the first one goes home to get more? What are the exact numbers on how many turns an army can stay in a foreign region before starving? If I hop from one foreign region to another every turn, will my supplies go down or will the army forage first and only when foraging is depleted it will start to eat the sandwiches it packed from home?
Why do some buildings have "Tax income bonus 1%"? I thought taxable income bonus didn't work.
Also, the cursor makes a black, rectangular hole in the loading screens.
1) Why does the General's Escort have missile attack 1?
-> they should not fight, thats an 17th century general, no richard lionheart. to avoid suicid general i give them skirmish pistol with great range. they do not really harm anybody with 1, but stay out of range of muskets and pikes
2) Why don't Jager Militia have free_upkeep_unit?
-> Should they have? Maybe it could be a good idea, as a militia and hunters (searching their food by their own). At the other hand, they are hunters/light skimirsh militia, they shouldnt stay at cities.
3) Why does Drainage give -1.5% to population growth?
-> That caused by an bad event like draught or rats or something similar
4) How do I use Supply Wagons
-> Put a wagon into an army, that put traits of supply at general. but dont fight with them.
5) and can I resupply from ships?
-> no, nice idea. but i dont know if that could be possible with script
6) Should I use two generals when marching an army in an enemy territory and besieging? One guy besieges for a while then the second guy arrives with supplies and the first one goes home to get more?
-> i think there are lots of possibilties to use them creative
7) What are the exact numbers on how many turns an army can stay in a foreign region before starving?
-> i have no idea, gigantus would know that, he is the scripter
8) If I hop from one foreign region to another every turn, will my supplies go down or will the army forage first and only when foraging is depleted it will start to eat the sandwiches it packed from home?
-> gigantus should know that
9)Why do some buildings have "Tax income bonus 1%"? I thought taxable income bonus didn't work.
-> taxes dont work?
10)Also, the cursor makes a black, rectangular hole in the loading screens.
-> maybe XP? When i used my old XP desktop pc, i get these holes too, but since i use an win7 notebook i never see them again.

Hi!
Could someone give help with mod's installation 'cos i don't know how to install the mod. I have never used those torrents and i don't trust them much. Is there any normal way to install mod?
I read Download and Installation v2.0 thread but i still didn't understand it.
Follow the Infracta link, download all 4 files into one directory, extract the 001 file with 7Zip- the other files wil be extracted automatically
Now follow these instructions:
Huzzah! Now it works. I didn't notice that extract 001 file 7Zip part. Now it works fine, expect i got couple errors when playing custom battle, but nevertheless, it works like charm. Thanks lad for help!
Why do some peasants run amok instead of routing? Because all they seem to do is get in the way of projectiles, this seems rather stupid to me because rather than them getting off the field and trying to survive they run around in circles getting more of them killed.
If the point was that they go berserk and kill people that doesn't seem to be working either. Perhaps in a later release you could have them use cavalry physics so they knock people about and kill a few people.
It is normal if I don't have trade at all with Prussia? I build marketplaces, and so on, but none of my cities is trading, although I've trade agreements with my neighbours.
What campaign should be chosen? grand campaign or custom campaign? is there a diffrence between those 2?

1) Why do some peasants run amok instead of routing?
-> I guess you mean our fanatics, that is religious rabble/mob. They´re have froth at their mouth, crazy looking, rolling eyes, yelling lords name, "kill the heretics, slay them all". They main use of this scum, it confuses the enemy. He shoot the rabble and send his cavalry. Its the best canonfudder
2) It is normal if I don't have trade at all with Prussia?
-> At beginning the trade of the most factions is nearly zero. Every region brings a malus to the faction. this helps avoiding rushing and fast growing "empires". The player is forced to build up his economy to compensate the malus. So the small factions with less regions have better chance to get money and grow, bigger factions have to reorganize and maybe to shrink to avoid bankrupt.
do the permanent stone forts add anything but a bit of territory and a nice place to threaten the enemy with your two free upkeep units?
i ask because i am trying to decide if i should make a last stand at each fort or run away to a better choke point with all my units once the big bullies come for me .
I use the minor cities (named forts) to set small garrison of canonfodder. the enemy must hold and besiege, that slow him down. he uses mostly more units as i while the battle.
also i like them to play more "RPG" style: today we conquered the city of Marburg
I have downloaded all 4 files but the problem is opening them and extracting them it will not do it. I also downloaded 7zip and its still not extracting it what version of 7zip do I need? I have window Vista. Also is it possible for you to upload the files in a binary format like you did with 1237 Total War that worked fine for me but this 1648 I am just getting blank sheet after I download it. The torrent download is only 13.25kb what is that suppose to do?? Is it another way to download the game I am sorry I dont understand please help.
the torrent is a separate way to get the files you get the torrent link then download it through a torrent client
as for 7zip just grab the most recent version it is free...
to use it start up 7zip , find your file , highlight the file then press the blue button that says extract just hit ok and it will extract the files
So it only gives that from time to time? In the description (before building it), it said -1.5%. I used process_cq to build it instantly to see if it had any effect on population growth and there was no change. The bonus to farming output must have canceled out the -1.5% penalty. I don't understand why an agricultural improvement would ever decrease population growth.
Don't fight with the wagons or with the generals who have wagons? Should I march the wagon with the army at all times or should I merge the wagon with the army only when the general is running out of supplies? Does the wagon get used up by being put in the army? Does it disappear and I have to make a new one, or does it just get depleted and I have to send it back to a city for more provisions?Originally Posted by Monguntiacum
That's in SS, which I think took its supply trait system from BGR. You can ask Byg about it.Originally Posted by Monguntiacum
No, taxable income bonuses and penalties don't work. They are displayed by the building, but there is no actual increase or decrease. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...57#post8692157Originally Posted by Monguntiacum
Yeah, it is XP. Oh well, no way of getting around that one then.Originally Posted by Monguntiacum
I am still getting a an error message when trying to extract it with the 7zip is there any way possible you can upload it in a binary format? I have downloaded many mods before from all the Total War series and I have not had any problems before I don't understand why this one will not open up. On the infactra website the downloads are blank sheets thats odd and they are 734mb yet it downloads only 700mb. Please help if possible
There are temporal scripted events which are reducing population growths, for example bad harvest. During such turns the changes are mentioned in the building description because of the script. Play some more turns and look if the description changes. The Call of Warhammer Mod uses a similar script and I was also confused there at the beginning . But I dont know how exactly this works in this version, I am still downloading.
Grand Campaign.
Custom campaign isnt in use. The screen shows ottoman army, because some time ago (2 years?) we wanted use custom campaign for the second campaign of 1648, the battle for balkan. But soon we decided to do this campaign as an own mod. 1648: The Two Towers. A preview can seen in "Infracta" Thread here.
Can someone write a full description of the supply system and the proper use of supply wagons?
The Turks are like Mongols in M2, right? A horde that attacks people?
