Meagan, you above all of us probably know he was up and down. I got that impression both from reading his posts and some of my brief conversations with him. He clearly had his good days and bad days. I didn't talk to him much on a personal level (I think very few did), but did discuss a few topics with him. Like others, we either strongly disagreed or strongly agreed with him. Rarely was there an in-between. He was just that kind of guy, very strongly set in his thoughts and feelings. But, he always did so in a way that you'd understand, in a subjective sort of way, by coming off as just as an average family guy. Perhaps his more traditional and old-school ways is what lead to some disagreements. He on occasion recounted his spirituality (that may have changed over the years, I'm not sure) and his family (especially his daughters) as a source of happiness in personal anecdotes in some discussions. I wish I could tell you what thread that was, but it was years ago. It should speak for itself that even amongst those who disagreed with him, that he was well known in this community and I am glad that he has had so many friends in his real world community. Absolutely try and get some of his posts dug up by some of the Hex administrators or moderators. There is some pure gold in there and it's a great opportunity for your daughters and the rest of his friends to have something to remember him by; as well as giving a better picture of the kind of person he was.

I have oft struggled with serious depression and suicidal ways myself and its terrible he lost that battle. His vacancy here will definitely leave this large community feeling a little emptier. But those of us who were familiar with his jolly ways will always remember him. You and your family take care.

Up until just recently I don't think Boof WAS depressed. We recently separated. He was in trouble with the law. THAT'S when he got depressed. In twelve years of being together we only ever argued about his drinking behaviour. We never argued about anything else. And in the end, it's what did him in. His demons won. If he had depression before that, it would be alcohol related depression, but he always seemed to be himself. He seemed ok other than that.

Megan, I have to say that I am shocked, I can't believe that Boofhead would do something like that. I was away from the forum for little while and just got back and when I saw your post, it was just
me starring at it for few minutes in disbelief. I knew Boofhead from 2008 when I really got involved with the TWC seriously, I used to come across his posts on many different threads and I have to say that
he was a very strong and brutally honest poster, always sticking to his opinions and always ready for some good discussion. I haven't seen him lately but I just thought he was away or too busy. This is just
such a sad news. I hope you and your family are coping well.

It's been a while since I last had a run in with him, but despite our disagreements (or agreements - I don't recall which ones we had the most of...) he was always a cool guy. May he rest in peace and I hope you and rest of the family will be able to find solace and be able to cope with this loss.

My condolences to you all, and boof may you find...peace and happiness in the afterlife... What a sad day!

Boofhead helped this website with an extremely difficult and potentially damaging situation; I don't think he ever realized that both me and the site were indebted to him for that, but unfortunately I cannot say more. I hope his family is fine, I know he loved his children very much.

It has been a while since I have been able to bring myself to log in here. It is hard. We are not doing so well. This has been the hardest time of my entire life. The kids are also having difficulties. I am currently looking for a grief counsellor who specialises in both children, and suicide, as the kids need extra help. November was very hard as that was boof's birthday. I took the children away to somewhere that was special to boof, and we spent his birthday weekend near the ocean. Now Christmas is coming up, and that will be hard also. Without him.
Boof liked to ride motorbikes, so I am buying both the kids a trail bike for xmas. It will be a fun connection to their dad, and it will get them out of the house and into some exercise. I hope.

I remember this. I know what you are referring to. I won't say more here. But I remember when boof was Mr.Detective.

I have asked the forum for a copy of Boof's postings on RTW forums. I would like a copy for the children. There is a lot of Boof's ideas stored on here. I was originally told that yes, I could have some, but would have to wait until the site's changes were made (back in March/April) ... but still nothing. Any ideas what could be the hold up? This is really important to me. Hence I am back here chasing it up once again. Any and all help would be appreciated MUCHLY!

The site suffered a lot of technical difficulties since the upgrade in March, and though the admins have done a fantastic job of keeping it afloat and fixing most of it, some elements (such as the search function, which is required to find Boofs posts) still don't function properly. Squid or one of the other Admins could fill you in on the details.

If they said that you will get them then rest assured that you will get them

My advice is to ask them again after the search function is fixed (currently it doesn't work for posts made before the upgrade), just in case they did indeed forget. I have no idea when that will be though.
