Default An idea about the map and something else...

Alright, this may be stupid, or it may be a bit cool. I was thinking if it would be nice to be able to rotate the map instead of pan up, down, left & right? Sort of like google earth, but not as detailed since it is a game and already takes up a bunch of resources apparently.

Also when I typed in www.twcenter.net and clicked enter, instead of coming to the site my computer downloaded a file everytime I clicked "go" I don't know what that's about. If anyone does, it would be nice to know

Nope. Not exactly a fan of Asian culture. According to your comment this was true in Shogun 2, hopefully it will be implemented in Rome 2.

Not to be over sensitive or anything but it seems rather closed minded to say "not a fan of Asian culture". A more appropriate wording would be "not too big on Japanese history". Also based on your comments on another thread you don't seem like a very culturally open minded.

I don't want to deviate from the thread. But I will against my judgement. I am a very honest man, I do not lie or "sugar-coat" things. I am not into, nor do I care for, Asian culture in general. Not just Jap culture. I am not a racist or any other term there is out there, Asian & African culture are strange and odd to me, I do not mind any other culture. I don't "hate" Asians, nor do I "hate" Africans. I have no problem with them as people, nor with there culture, only that it does not "stimulate" me in the slightest and doesn't catch my attention. If you wish to take this further, let me know and include a link to a separate thread.

You realize Israel is in asia right?
Anyway i think it would be neat to be able to spin around the viewpoint of the map however i would rather ca focus on other things for the initial release, maybe they can add that ability in with a patch (which would be automatic with steam)

When I say Asia I refer to anything east of Iraq.

Wow, okay, a big deviation off the thread's original direction. Anyway, let's finish this by saying that we all know that Cor De Ferrum meant Far East, not just Asian. Can someone just answer his question? Because I just don't think I really understood it.

so israelians are considered asians all of a sudden lol? are these the same people that think people from turkey are asians? (originally sure, but how about now?) also then why does israel compete with european soccer leagues and the eurovision songfestival?

i think the term asian is pretty botched the same way american is.. it can be someone from alaska or someone from peru..

If Shogun 2 had the rotatable campaign camera then undoubtedly Rome 2 will as well and every total war game after it. It's very useful if there's an army behind a mountain and usually you wouldn't be able to see it.

Damn with those "political correct" modern brainwashed masses, "oh my god he doesnt like Asian cultures oh my god he is racist etc".
YES HE DOESNT like Asian culture he is not interested in it and he has every right to do so, stop the useless mumbling.
Having said that i would agree that a rotating map would be nice

Theyre not Considered Asians, neither Europeans. They are a western Culuture between Islamic nations, who , obviously, hate them. Thats the point why they compete in European Politics and Culture Events like Sports.

I'm not accusing him of being racist, it just seems ridiculous to dismiss an entire group of cultures as weird and uninteresting. Wouldn't it be idiotic if I said that I thought European culture was weird and boring. That is a vast over generalization of a large group of unique and interesting cultures. Whatever, this is the same guy who thought "White" was a race and that the "white race" is being discriminated against more than other cultures. Anyways back to the original topic now, I don't have time for ranting against a heavily opinionated German Jew (oh the irony).

I agree with King Porus's views.

And yup, I am sure the 3D map is bound to be in, and can't wait to see the whole of Europe with a lovely old map fog of war!! (probably)

Since it's in Shogun 2, I'd be surprised if it isn't in Rome 2. It is a useful feature.

And really, guys? Is this the place to argue over semantics and then derail the thread talking about racism? Start a thread in an appropriate subforum or continue the conversation via messaging if you want to continue.

Tbh, im not that interested in "Asian" Japanese culture/history either. It just dosn't appeal to me as much as European Culture/history. I would much rather have had Rome 2, instead of Shogun 2. Not saying there is anything wrong with it Asian/Japanese culture/history, but if there was a show about Medeival Europe and Medieval Japan on tv, i would watch the one about Europe. It's much more interesting and relatable for me i guess.

Also the map rotation is in Shogun 2, and im 99% sure it will be the same for Rome 2.

And yes i got the download file, everytime i tried to get on TWC these last couple of days. No idea why.

The download file was a test (if you opened it you would have figured, it's written just that).
