Thats just bad marketing by paradox, most people didnt even heard of Sengoku. And EB2 doesnt even have to worrying about that, everyone who plays M2TW now will keep playing it, silly people thinking we can only have one total war game in our pc...

Hmm, I suppose the monthly increase in requests for releases, betas and whatnot are due to the sneak peeks and twitter pic updates. We're like animals, we are used to something every few weeks and if we aren't thrown a piece of 'meat' once in a while, we get cranky.

Regarding the beta, the devs will decide what to do. It's their hard work and only they get to decide what to do with the game. I for one want to play v1.0 when it comes.

I voted for open beta but I'd prefer something like the previously planned Gaza campaign. EB2 needs even more time or else i'd be playing a beta that's more like an alpha. If somebody outside of the EB2 volunteered to do something like the Gaza campaign or even salvage it: I would appreciate that. I am slowly working on learning how to mod m2tw so I can contribute to the community. (Really slow).... but it would be a long time before I really start participating in some real modding. Maybe it would take me years to learn how to do all the things I wanted to do, but I won't give up.

I would love an OB, however, I would only say that if it were in playable shape. I would rather just wait until the devs think it is ready and not rush them.

A fair deal: The team releases the beta now and for those who rather want to wait can download the mod when 1.0 version comes out.
Then you may as well brag about your patience virtue.
