    Default Weird "borders"...

I found strange thing. In the middle of african coast is some kind of "border" which I can`t cross.
It can`t go from Egypt to Carthege by land! this is kinda weird.

Moreover, Bactria is surrounded by an strange kind of border made of trees and mountains. This faction is completely cut from northern neighbours (Sarmatia?).

Was it made by purpose or is this a bug?

LOL! That was funny! It`s not a bug. There are 2 landblocks in place in RTRPE v1.6 and apparently you have found them both. If you do not want them there then see this topic:

Also see this post(it`s from the pinned RTRPE v1.6 topic):

I have not played a campaign that far east, but I think it`s the same as the african one. You can go by sea. The reason it was created is so Bactria won`t expand unrealistically to the north and to force Bactria and Parthia to confrunt the seleucids more. So you can go north by sea or through the seleucid land.

EDIT: or, as I said earlier, you can remove the landblock all together if they bother you.

First, thanks for help. I will remove them because it`s annoying a little.
Only way to reach Sarmatians is to go through Armenia (todays).
But if it`s good for realistic Bactria (as AI) then it`s weird for Ptolemaios. Shouldn`t they go against Carthage?

As for Bactria the easiest way is to conquer Parthia, build ship and land in Sarmatia (if you reallt have to). The reason for land block is probably historical - nobody (including Megas Alexandros) went to Scytian (Amazon) lands this way...

The same goes for conquering Africa - there were ALWAYS naval inasions (having so much march throwgh sahara... probably would give even more casualties than for Alexandros came back from India)

Without the Africa-Egypt landblock the AI Ptolemaics are usually crushed within 20yrs. They disappear. Also Carthage wastes enormous resources crossing the desert to fight them and neglects Iberia etc.

Without the Bactrian block Seleucia soon dominates half the map, from Egypt to northern Asia and into Macedon and Thrace.

Believe me, landblocks do wonders for your game if you play for more than a couple of decades, and if you get to a stage where you want to 'release' them from their cage - you can do it mid-game by removing the blocks.

The Bactrian block is easily passable by a human player via the Caspian.
