Proposal - New forum called Romper Room

The forum upgrade and everything that goes with it has brought this to mind. We need to separate the kiddies of the site from the adults of the site. I propose we create a new forum called the Romper Room. All new members of the site (along with anyone else we vote to move) will only be able to post in this forum and its subforums until they have been deemed worthy to post on the rest of the site.

Forum Structure:

Romper Room - main forum/general discussion
--- Potty Mouth Training - How to get your point across civily
--- Letters & Numbers - Improve your motor skills and lEaRn hOw NoT tO TyPe
--- I'm a Big Kid Now! - Potential Graduates


Along with this forum structure will come a new Staff section called The Daycare. The Daycare will consist of Daycare Specialists (Mentors), Nannies, and Babysitters and their Staff Service Award wil be a Diaper. Same length of service as the other departments will apply.

I mean that the initiative and the objective is actually good. But certain parts of OP look to be like a lol proposal.

This actually has some serious potential as a form of moderation. Forum ban multiple offenders to this section. That'd make for some great rainy day entertainment too.

I was disgusted by some of the responses people posted in the update threads. The one in the forum magnum was particularly ridiculous. I've never seen such entitled, juvenile behavior. I don't usually agree that the best way to fight behavior like this is to belittle the person, but I think this idea is hilarious and I support it. I also want to be a volunteer nanny!

By what standard do the nannies judge which members leave the kiddy pool?

If it is serious I think it's a bad idea. I would be much less likely to register for a forum with a system like this and even less likely to stay. Also, many new members come here for modding help, and if this is by default for all new members, it would be a disaster.

It's probably a joke. But that doesn't mean it wouldn't work well. Just convert it to a time-out system for existing members.

New members of Redcafe don't sign up to post bugs and modding questions to have their problems solved as fast as possible.

People can still post in the newbie forum and solve problems. That's not really a counter argument against this proposal.

How will you expect modders to venture out of their familiar areas and enter the, um, Romper Room, to look between dozens of different unrelated topics and answer them?

Lets make this forum but people aren't thrown in there immediately. If they act like kids they have to take a time out in the Pomper Room with equally minded fellows. Even the most situated member can be thrown in there. Theeen, when all the little ones are gathered. We will throw down various weapons like spoons and quills and make them fight to the death! We will dance on the blood of the gladiator games. People from all over the web will come from far away to watch the games and the blood shed. When it is all over and there is only one left standing he will be made Hex and the cycle begins a new.

Urhm, done with my little gleefully insanity burst here. Even though I like blood and suffering, I don't like segregating people we know nothing about into smaller parts of the forum and call it stuff like the pomper room. People will feel judged and I doubt anyone will like it there...
