It is a bug in the AI coding by Creative Assembly. The AI has problems defending. Send one unit of cav and attack them and then retreat the cav unit back to your lines and the AI will stop that behavior and then it will attack you. In NTW3 mod the AI clumps up into a big blob on defense.In Shogun2 I have seen the AI rtreat and form up and stay static and not move at all-frozen even when you attack them It is also dependent on some battle maps.

Black fireForge- Correct it is the first one. I love your let's play as you fight the heroic fight and play 40 units as it is so epic! If you want any special tweaks to your version of the mod I could make a special version for you. Hope you can build some artillery units and spray those Red Coats with cannister shot.

PLAY BATTLES ON NORMAL DIFFICULTY. AI GETS MASSIVE CHARGE BONUS ON VERY HARD DIFFICULTY.It depend on the stats of the units. It also depends on how many men are in each unit and number of units on the field. If the Ai thinks it has a better chance of destroying you with a melee charge it will. If you match them in stats for musketry and they outclass you with melee attack and charge bonus vs your melee defense stats they will go for it. You need to make cannister shot count with proper cannon placement. I boosted the cannister shot to stop the mass infantry attacks. Napoleon used mass block formations to smash through enemy lines. Note: I have noticed that the British like to charge even in custom battles.

I downloaded DMN edits volley fire version.
Units rout very fast and then come back to fight is it normal?
What have i to do to play without all my armies rout when they charge?

Hi Bran,

I used your Lionheart version and it seems diplomacy is completely out of balance. I am plying as russia (40 unit armies) and on turn 3 Prussia declares war on me with +40 attitude. Moreover, the next turn Austria AND GB declare war on me despite being my allies. It doesn't make sense.

elinath-It can effect balance of game play if the stats for the units are very different than the mod you are adding it too. For example morale stats and accuracy stats. As to AI behavior the answer is no as that is hard coded.
