I plan to pull together for the minor states a useful (but not exhaustive) guide/tool for players of “Napoleon: Total War” who like the units they command to have more realistic names.
To produce the lists I will draw on a wide range of books including - Elting “Swords Around a Throne”; Haythornthwaite “The Napoleonic Source Book”; Otto von Pivka “Armies of the Napoleonic Era”; Osprey Men at Arms; Nafziger/Wesolowski/Devoe “Poles and Saxons of the Napoleonic Wars”; Knotel’s ”Uniforms of the World”; Gill ""With Eagles to Glory"; Partridge & Oliver’s “Napoleonic Army Handbook”; the booklets of Nafziger & Rawkins on various armies; the books of Ilari & Crociani etc on everything to do with Italy; booklets from the Napoleonic Association; magazine articles (Tradition, Age of Napoleon, Little Wars etc) and various websites (but most definitely not Wiki!) including Napoleon Series etc.
