What sometimes happen and can bring confusion is due to different time zones. Since compressed files keep the original "last modified" data, if the previous player has different time zone, when you unzipped it is thrown down in the order. So when you go and open the lastest (top) save, asuming that would be the correctone, you just load anotherone.
May be is a stupid mistake and only happened to me, but is my experience. Jajaja!
