may not thracian faction come back to eb mod?
Thrace is where I was born
There are a few problems with a "real" Thracian faction:
- the starting date puts us just after the Celtic migration/invasion, after which they founded their own state in Thrace. It didn't last that long, yet the date...
-how provinces are drawn in the game: let's say we look at the EB I map- the Odryssai should get Byzantion and Tylis as their home provinces, yet they never got the first and the latter was the Celtic "capital"( referring to the towns, not the whole provinces )
-while the Triballoi can get a province and could muster strong field force, they were never strong not united politically
While not the most typical, the Getai are still a Thracian tribe, and while not a personal favorite, we at least got a Thracian faction. As far as EB I goes, you could move south and just use normal Thracian units as your main army, I am sure you would be able to do so in EB II, too.
And for the where question, there were Thracian inhabitants from Thessaly and the Aegean islands to the Carpates, yet as far as I know, only parts in Northern Greece, Southern Bulgaria and European Turkey are referred as such today![]()
