ah I see; well I love sheep meat but I never tried the ham (not typical here); I guess I need to look around for it next time I'm travelling north of Europe

I actually have a bunch more stuff I can dump here, but I'm too lazy to have a good format like I tried in the start of this tread:

I found a squirrel on the road a while back (still flowing blood, and cold air, so fresh!). Skinned it, grilled it, and it was very good!

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Whale burger I tested. Result: I's great and beefy.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Some seal with sesame oil gravy. Result: Tastes great, just like whale.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

And some foreign food: Mongolian khuushuur! Made with minced lamb and onion in a deep fried dumpling. A simple dish I can recommend to anyone.

VATTER, surely there are some risks involved when eating roadkill. In the US they'd call you a "redneck."

Was still fresh, insta-kill with the head ran over. I normally would not take risks with meat, but it started with me only wanting the skin, and after skinning it it still looked and smelled okay, so I figured why not!
Bigger worry for me was parasites and disease, so I made sure it was well-done.

Mother was a passenger while I was driving. Did not approve of me bringing it home.

Excellent recipes, gastronomy without taboos can produce some of the finest dishes. Here we cannot obviously reach the Scandinavian variety, as reindeers and whales are unfortunately out of reach, so the local spécialités are limited to rather mainstream goat heads. The meat of the head is tastier than that of the rest of the body, but the real delicacies are the eyeballs and the brain (some also like the tongue, but I'm personally not so enthusiastic). The latter should be sprinkled with lemon and pepper (and perhaps accompanied with goat cheese), but be careful. Depending on the manner in which the animal was slaughtered, you may find tiny skull fragments inside (too small, however, to cause any serious concern).

I know a guy who shoots foxes.
Was cleaning the head of one to get to the skull, but figured I could try the meat as well since it would be wasted.

    Some fox

Not very good, but might be due to me cooking it very well. I brined it and then stewed with some stuff. Ended up though and with a strong gamy taste. Won't do again unless famine probably.

    You're safe for now Pĺsan

my dad used to work on a nuclear submarine and whenever you asked him if his ship had nukes on it he'd always say the same thing so we always knew he's the one who sold the weapons to the soviets

The thing about low-grade meats is that you cannot cook them for long. The longer you cook them, the tougher and more tasteless they get. Pigeon is a good example. You just wanna cook the pigeon enough so that it's safe to eat.

Tasteless wasn't exactly the problem though. Toughness was bad, but you'd think neck meat could take. Not like it was tender from before after all.

Get one from the forest and it would probably be better.
