Gandalf grey/white

Hi, i just returned to playing TATW again (took a long break, last one I played was 2.0) and the mod is still crazy awesome, kudos to the creators. I read around these forums that if Gandalf the grey dies, he respawns as white for Gondor. Now I'm playing as Gondor and notice I get the option to get Aragorn no matter what. Does the same happen with Gandalf if I play as Gondor, or does the AI have to lose him in battle for him to respawn as white for me. Tried searching the forums, but it never got explained if he NEEDS to die in the hands of A.I-Eriador for the player (as gondor) to get him. Sorry if this has been asked before, but I cannot find it anywhere...

Unfortunately this does not happen with Gandalf.. I'd like this scenario though. I've played Gondor a few times, never got the chance to have Gandalf..

only happens in MOS submod afaik

and yes Gandalf needs to die for it to take effect , can't remember if it's gondor or eriador that gets Gandalf the white though
