RSII Installation problems - Steam user with Rome Gold Edition - +rep for help!

It says I have 3 errors:
1:
"You dont have RSII installed in the correct folder. (C:\games\Roma Surrectum II) - I do have it installed there so I have no idea what that error is.

2:
Engine: RomeTW-ALX.exe Faction Campaign -mod:play_seleucid

3: In total: `RomeTW-ALX.exe mod:play_seleucid-show_err-nm-movie-cam

I have Rome II Gold edition.

How I installed, just in case I did something wrong:

1. download RSII and put the .exe file in C:\Games
2. Copied my Rome Total War Gold folder to C:\Games in which a "Rome total Gold" folder appeared. I renamed it "Roma Surrectum II"
3. Start the RSII .exe file and direct the installment to C:\Games\Roma Surrectum II"
4. Launch the game and press on the button here:




and filled out the rest.

5. Checked the boxes at the bottom for special effects, then chose Seleucids as faction, tried to start the campaign and all of those errors appeared.

If you have R:TW Gold then you don't have thw R:TW Alex exe which the error message in the first post is referring to...

Aha so Alexander is a must-have to play this mod?

No, u can choose freely to use RomeTW.exe, RomeTW-BI.exe or RomeTW-Alx.exe. So if u don't have Alex u can choose one of the other two.

Yep, just noticed! I did not get those errors again now, but instead one saying "problem checking steam application" Ill try restarting steam then launching the game as admin.

EDIT: Tried it, still got the same error. :/

For those of you who got the same error "problem checking steam application" You just need to go to the launcher, do the changes you want, press save, then launch BI in steam and it works! Perfect! Thanks for the help anyways!

Yep, but I had to spread some first.

Could you please try this launcher?
I think I finally got it nailed.

Unzip it, and copy its content in the launcher folder.
Overwrite existing files.
It's probably best to delete the launcher.ini file too.

I do not think it is needed, it works for me now! Just had to launch the game via Steam. Unless you want me to test some stuff for you, I would be up for doing that.

EDIT: Oh and maybe you should add that to the Frequent problems thread. All of my friends on steam had the same problem until I discovered it was so simple!

Oki, loaded for a bit longer, but still go the "problem checking steam application"
It really does not matter at all, because the way I am doing it is WAY easier for steam users. They only have to start up Rome in steam like they always would and then it works, they dont have to find any launcher.exe

First, could you paste the content of the launcher.ini file here?
And could you see if there's a steamlauncher.bat file in the parent directory (with data and the exe)? If yes, could you please paste its content here too?
