Thread: Will players have full control of their faction?

Default Will players have full control of their faction?

So, since factions are "different" in RTW, I'm wondering how so?

Obviously on the battlefield the player will retain full control of their troops. On the campaign map, at least with the factions with multiple families, will players have some sort of limited access to the faction's troops/buildings/production?

I would like to see the player be able to command their faction in the most available way possible, like in all other TW games, but there needs to be some sort of way to represent the internal struggles, especially in factions like Rome and maybe Seleukia if they're included. I hope this is more a mechanic than a restrictive issue on the player, but I have no idea.

    Discuss.

Nope they will have to ask their Mum's permission first.

I think internal faction politics have to play a part. That and a deepening of the economic system.

I'm a sucker for graphs and numbers.

I think you will have full control of your faction for most factions, but in Republics your powers might be a bit more restricted like they are in Empire.

I think if you play Rome, you will recieve Senate missions. And apparently CA says that if one of your family members is on a settlement he will start politicking on the city. Also given that there are 3 families to play as the one Roman faction, i think you will have to deal with the other families as well.

The Roman faction will have an internal diplomacy system.

The other factions is difficult to tell, but i am sure there will have their own system.

And I suppose assassinating a rival family won't be an option.

Didn't CA say that you had to have family members in Rome personally to advance up the cursus honorum? That would be a good check on having a single general campaigning for his whole life if the mechanics are put in place correctly.

Other than that I really hope that CA does justice to Rome's internal politics, the Senate and the Plebs etc.
