Epica - Monopoly on Truth 10/25 Sure, Post my favourite Epica song. That'll get you a 10, Cheeky bastard.
The Agonist - Birds Elope with the Sun 8/20 Ah, The Agonist. My guilty -core pleasure.
Nightwish - Phantom of the Opera 9/23
Lunatica - Elements 8/22

Doro & Warlock - True as Steel 9/30 Doro is quite a guilty pleasure of mine.
Estatic Fear - Chapter III 6/26 Nice voice and orchestration, but not fully interesting.
The Gathering - Leaves 4/26 reminded me a bit of the original Diablo game, but no more than that.
Astarte - Black Mighty Gods 8/23 You got my attention with this one [bangs head]
Epica - Monopoly on Truth 6/31 I got bored, sorry.
The Agonist - Birds Elope with the Sun 5/25 Easy on the double pedal, it dominates too much.
Nightwish - Phantom of the Opera 10/33 Any of the submissions. Tarja is another of my guilty pleasures.
Lunatica - Elements 6/28 Voice OK but without enough character for me.

@Joakim: I am crazy bout Anna Murphy too, but I wish you had found me an odd gem from Eluveitie (with her on vocals) rather than something I have already listened to extensively.

Well, being in no position to assess unconventionality from a technical perspective myself I figure, based on the widespread acclaim, I can't go wrong with Death or Psychotic Waltz, but I like Death much more. Technically and musically creative yes, vocally not so much, but the only creative vocals I can think of are Attila's in "De Mysteriis..." anyway.

confessor - condemned 7/7 - a song from there first professional `91 album, back them to me a musical masterpiece, never heard such beats before
death - crystal mountain 7/7 - very creative drumming and a lot of different colors
arcturus - nightmare heaven 8/8 - interesting mixture between electronic and melodic circles
scartsot - tvende ravne 6/6 - frogging folkmetal - cool
amaranthe - the nexus 8/8 - very creative vocals and usage of electronically support
indukti - sansara 7/7 - like there strong evolving themes

death - crystal mountain - 5/12 I liked it, but not very unconventional imo, deductions for that
arcturus - nightmare heaven - 8/16 uninteresting at first, but on second try it grew on me

amaranthe - the nexus - 3/11 The vocals are creative, but is it metal? I did not like it much
