^It is going nowhere I believe, everyone can search things up and believe that a gap of 700 years and a different language and the phrase that "Alexander and Greeks, except Lakedaimonioi send these Persian armours back to Greece" mean nothing and in reality Macedonians were Japanese with some Koreatic influence.

Also, to comment about the topic of the thread, it is ridiculous people to come here and say that "EBII is so late that lost me and 90% of his fanbase coz of Rome II"

I believe it is common knowledge that the people who really appreciated EB1 have nothing in common with these guys.

Also, i am a bit stupid that I almost always try to "defend" EBII, like it needs any kind of defense. THe work of the team speaks for itself, loud and clear. Best total war game yet.

There you go Dunadd, if you're still watching. Couldn't have described the situation better myself. You are one of the 90% who this game is not designed for. This is why the developers are looking at a ten year development cycle for the mod. It's for them, for their concept of history. It's not for you.

EB has always been a bit of a strange beast. On the surface its seems like a large scale, mainstream mod, comparable with RTR or Stainless Steel. In reality it's appeal has always been a lot narrower, something its developers are entirely comfortable with. Losing 90% of their audience doesn't matter to them. Unfortunately, as the only big mod of M2 that operates in the classical period, it's the only game in town and will be until RII becomes moddable.

Speaking of RII and before this thread is inevitably closed I was curious, does anyone know if EB was mentioned in any of the media surrounding Rome II? The Suebi faction symbol and Arveni unit sure look awfully familiar.

Why do these joke threads always have to devolve to people taking it seriously :/

Anyway, for people interested in actual information, you can see from a developer comment here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9X_PL...eature=related that they hope to be ready long before 2015. And since it was made a week ago, this is after they stressed the need for help in the recent preview. So no 2018 prophecies! Rejoice! (And hopefully no more release jokes in 2 years )

Ok, this has gone long enough.

We apologize it's taking too long for some to bare, we are as eager as you to see this released but we can only do a limited amount of work at a time.

    Thread closed.
