    Version: 24/01/2013

    This is the first resource from Open Source Material Series. Everything in this release is made from scratch, including over 50 heads with different skin colours, short and long hair, 2d and 3d facial hair, long neck (convenient for merging with all sorts of body models).



    Comparison with Vanilla Models Vanilla Heads:

    • Poly Count: 350
    • Vert Count: 190

    Heads from this pack:

    • Poly Count: 250 - 400 (depending on hair and beard)
    • Vert Count: 170 - 270


    Animated Preview


    Download contains:

    • .ms3d model file (no group comments, don't forget to put those)
    • .dds texture file (only main file, no normal maps)
    • .psd file (in case you want to make some changes to the faces)


    Usage Policy:
    People can use them wherever they want, as long as they do not claim the work for themselves. Also, I would really appreciate, if you provide some credit and post links to your works. Well, I leave that to your discretion.

    Please leave suggestions for the next resource. Here are some ideas:
    • helmets (spangehelm, pot helm, nasal helmet)
    • shortbows, longbows, crossbows
    • spears, swords, axes
    • body parts (high poly main body, legs)

    Beautiful!

    i'd say the thing most mods lack the most is new "shortbows, longbows, crossbows" since they use the good enough vanilla ones...

    actually most weapons are lacking

    Nice, It'll useful to modder, good you have marked the poly and vertices count, a lot of modder don't do attention to this fact.

    Great work As for the question, I would say that any form of weapon is necessary. (A great weapon pack would be very ideal!)

    I am not interested in firearms, but will soon release a big pack of units for DLV. I will not include pavises for now, but in the future perhaps. 4 polearms are included (different heads).

    I'd appreciate it if you could make a conical helmet with furry fringes.

    Of course you can edit or do whatever you want. What is the point of releasing open-source if it is undeditable.

    As for the helmet, i don't think i have time for this right now. Why not give it a try yourself?
