Partial Refund for 970 Owners Through Amazon!

Amazon US/UK (EU?) are refunding 20% on the GTX 970, if asked. Just worked for me - I copied and pasted this:

Hi, I've just found out that the Nvidia GTX970 only has 3.5gb of usable ram, not the 4GB that is stated. I also found out that Amazon US and Amazon UK and Newegg were giving a 20% partial refund as an apology for misadvertising the product. Would I be able to get one, also?

Note that Newegg is a tougher nut to crack. They probably wont honor it. But that $340 beast of a card ending up costing me $270 and makes the whole Vram debacle a lot easier to swallow. Amazon just earned back some much needed respect from me because I could not be more pissed off with their shipping times now if you don't have Prime.

Newegg and Amazon are offering partial refunds. And with relative ease actually. Its about $60-70 refund per card.

I think he is referring to the fact you could have gotten back some money for a few minutes of your time.

With that $10 rebate and the refund it cost me $260. I sold my 770 for $200 so a nice $60 upgrade to 4GB of Vram which unlocked more eye candy options over the 770 with its 2GB.

I got the EVGA version and the fans hardly even run in-game. They start running above 50c and it rarely hits that in winter. Idle it is around 32c. Simply a great piece of engineering.
