Dude, they are not paid to do this. They are spending their own time and effort to make this for all of us. So least we could do is not just stand there behind them and ask every 5 seconds "are we there yet?".
Well, what can I say? 6.4 has been around quite some time. I didn't see anyone on the first page asking about this, so I thought why not. Of course I realize no one gets paid for this. That's I didn't ask "why aren't we there yet?". SS is my favourite medieval era mod, so...

Every time somebody asks about it, the release date gets pushed back by two weeks as punishment. Thanks a lot, Hoplite.
It's ashame these talented people doesnt get paid for the work. How about putting together a small ''donation''. I for one would be glad to put in my 30 dollars in order to speed things up. Now if we could get a couple of hundred people doing the same then the modders might actually find it worthile spending some extra time on making 7.0
If I could quote a well known figure here at twcenter "When it's finished." Ferdiad
It mainly comes down to how many features we can include. Gracul made initial announcement and turned over some files but has since been absent. Germanicus can probably still achieve those initial goals though I guess it depends if we still want to do it in the same way. I like the polls that FP instituted with SSMAP of asking the forums what features they really want to see and then depending on time and volunteers working to see how much we can get done in a reasonable timeline.
Overall biggest things to decide from design standpoint are in my opinion-
1. speed of mod- fast development, town growth, availability etc. Slower growth is more realistic for sure but requires more changes to files and building trees and unit availability. Current difficulty in getting Fortress and Citadel is not bad though recruitment availability for some factions should be adjusted with that in mind but probably some choice should be committed to.
2. challenge levels- Gracul wanted to have a harder VH with only 1 save allowed per turn similar to legendary on Shogun 2. Technically possible but how much interest in this? Could follow BGR lead in some ways here or simply make more extreme the AI boosts between Normal, H, and VH or institute some other elements like longer assimilation etc.
3. eras- most work has been done on 12th century units by far, SS for awhile had 1100, 1220, and 1450 eras, should we aim for similar which would allow expanded rosters at each era or is that too much work/time? Already 3-4 submods cover 12th century but only 1390 is currently working on later eras and no one is doing 1200-1390 timeline which actually could be very interesting with Mongol invasions, Teutonic Knights, 100 Year's War, Avignon Papacy, 4th Crusade and Latin Kingdoms, etc.
4. roleplay elements- we can do some cool things but the tradeoff is longer turn times and more chance for CTD which means more bug testing and longer development.
5. support for older submods- the more changes we make submods are forced to change or simply go their own way. Possible also to include alot of the current popular submods like Royal Ladies, etc.
6. factions and AOR units- how many should be changed/updated and delete obsolete units to create more unique per faction or add more AOR units?

I think that alot of work could be ported from submods if permission allowed. Still alot of work left however. I would say that growth is okay, just need to know how to use the system right (P.S in SSHIP cities seem to grow really fast now), increase in difficulty with maybe some features of BGR included would be amazing, inclusion of 1390 in the base game would also be fantastic. would give a few different era flavours. New factions and AOR units always loved.
I'm personally looking forward to the roleplay elements, really makes it into a new game for me! It doesn't have to be extremely complex or anything.
I'd also say I'm really looking forward to bland/useless units being replaced with something more cool/interesting (which I'm sure you guys are already doing)!
Just my 2 cents.![]()

Hey guys, not been on here in ages, last time I came was for the fresh v6.0! Anyways I'm interested in picking up Med2 again and I really want to play Stainless Steel, only trouble is I'm on capped internet so I've gotta be careful with what I download. Would you say I'm better off just downloading this 6.4 version and waiting? Or will 7.0 be coming relatively soon?
