in the 'desc unit' file each generals guard has two numbers in the health section. The first applies to the units hp and the second applies to the general... right? I gave all cavalry guards 2 hp and the generals each have 5 (to prevent stupid charge deaths). This way cavalry guards can compete with hoplite guards, although in a head on fight the hoplites will still destroy them. Flank charging a hoplite formation is, on the other hand, much more effective now, there is also much less fear of the general suiciding himself in the charge
