Default Crusader Kings II: Interactive History

Alright, the republic DLC will be dropping on the 14th, and I was thinking that we could do a Crusader Kings 2 game following its release. This would need to be a regular and weekly thing at a timeslot most of us can manage, for that purpose I am suggesting that we have our first game Saturday the 19th at 5 PM EST. Feel free to bombard me with suggestions though, particularly if you think a later time on Saturday would be better. (8 EST is my other thought)

I will be hosting the game, and have all of the DLC's (and will be purchasing Republics once it is released) This includes The Sword of Islam, The Legacy of Rome, and Sunset Invasion (Let me know here if you all think that last one should be disabled)

We will be starting at the 1066 startpoint.

Here are some items you will need:

Hamachi - For connecting, because metaserver is garbage, and since I am at Uni, I have amazing internets, but I can't forward ports.

    Teamspeak 3
For communication. The server to be in is 74.91.116.171
A mic is not necessary, but I will not be typing everything out over some terrible steam group chat

    Mod
The minimod we will use; unzip to documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/mod
    Some house rules:
No wanton killing of one another. This means no assassinating each other or each other's heirs for teh lulz

No faction hopping. If you 'lose' the game, upon the next restart only pick a character who is of the same rank or lower than your previous character that lost out. This means that if you royally up the county of Aargau, you can't just swap to Holy Roman Emperor.

No wanton warring or coalitioning other player for teh lulz. This means that if you are say... the Fatimids, don't call holy wars for someone elses places in Ireland because you can. This does not prohibit necessary PVP, but merely asks that PVP is kept to being necessary, rather than because you can.

Playing as another players faction requires written permission from said player in this thread, unless they have withdrawn or have dropped off the face of the planet as determined by the rest of us

If you have any suggestions for house rules feel free to post it here.

If you wish to reserve a faction go ahead and post it here. I would recommend though that if you are new or not particularly good at CK2, not to reserve massive empires.

Also I believe we should use the mod Flavorful Titular Titles, which adds in a ton of titular titles, and they are cool so give thoughts.

Post any more suggestions if you have em.

    Spoiler for Tenative Faction reservations
    Breizh/Poland- Gunny
    Kingdom of Denmark - Dan
    Navarra - Celts
    Saxony/Braunshweig-EB
    Munster/Deblin/Rostov - Kaits
    Ghana/Venice-Pericles
    Parma - Celsius

    Munster/Dublin or Rostov.

Will have to work out those programs, I don't currently have a mic for my desktop.

I'll roll with either Poland or Denmark. I haven't decided which yet.

Also, I definitely support disabling Sunset Invasion. No need to have random Aztecs wandering about the map. I don't particularly want to go to the trouble of installing extra mods either, especially for something as simple as titles.

I think I'll go for Ghana, the only people I've had any moderate success with, though maybe the Most Serene Republic of Venice.

I will tentatively reserve the Kingdom of Navarra.

I may be unable to play, but disabling the Sunset Invasion and playing at 8 PM EST would increase the chances.

Edit: A good house rule might be not marrying Matilda of Tuscany.

Have you played the game? You can't play Republics.

Also, I had an opportunity to do a quick test game as Poland and Denmark this morning, and I've decided I'll definitely be reserving Denmark.

Should we all stick to a certain region like Northern Europe?

Anyway, I think I will be Saxony or Braunschweig. That is up to change though.

@Dan I tried to trick you into claiming England by saying "and I'm the King of England" . Some KoH fan you are.

All this time I thought it was just a creative way of saying you weren't playing. Oh well. It's probably a good thing since England has one of the hardest starts in the 1066 campaign.

Cleaned up some unnecessary postings. Let's say we resolve our differences through conquest this time, eh?

Who are the Ghaznavids? I don't get the Muslim factions in this game at all.
