Default Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold

I've fallen in love this song since the trailer for The Hobbit. I see quite a number of artists are picking it up and doing their own versions. If you know of one (or of a version of this Tolkien poem set to music) then post here....these are my favourites (starting with the original and the theme song (loosely based on it))...apologies for the last one (though I'm sure the Scandinavians will love it!)

Yeah, I found myself humming and singing it alot, too, since I saw the movie (hence my custom user title...).
I read this so called Bible, and found it to be a third rate story in which this so called 'jesus' is nothing more than a shameless lampooning of Brian, which has inspired joy and laughter in millions.

Yep, it is really contagious song.

By the way, I really like this version. Girls are talented and have done amazing covers so far.

I couldn't listen to them at work, but I did now. They are all good. My absolute favorites, however, are the Dwarven Rock version (I'm an old headbanger ) and the two electric harps version - propably because they are string instruments. I like strings - oh, that didn't come out right...

Yeah, I didn't include purely musical versions (because the voice is important to the piece), but feel free to add those too

Didn't know harps could be carried about like that!

Yeah, that guy is great. Listen to his Star Wars, Braveheart and other stuff. He even made a Game of Thrones meets Metal - excellent!

So, I finally found a video with the full two verses sung in the movie AND this funny website, yourepeat which automatically repeats the video. You simply have to change youtube to yourepeat.
I would rather have a memory that is fair but unfinished than one that goes on to a grievous end.

This is pretty good, relaxing and has all verses, even though is far from Dwarven baritone: (Just ignore World of Warcraft related comments...)
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

And speaking of baritone, for the case you didn’t hear it: (sorry for offtopicing; it is at least LOTR themed):

Christopher Lee rocks, and he's doing heavy metal, too!

Hehe, following Éorl's hint on Sir Lees Heavy Metal career, I listened to an interview and found, that Lee's first major role was in "Captain Horatio Hornblower". That's hilarious, he was doomed eventually end up playing Saruman.

On second thought: Why is he going all Charlemagne? Heil Herzog Widukinds Stamm!

Because Charlemagne is an ancestor of his.
