How tall were the Famous Daimyos?
Im interested about the height of the famous daimyos of the Sengoku Jidai, if anyone knows anything please share your knowledge here.
I dont recall where I read it, but If I remember correctly then Takeda Shingen was 1.62 m, Oda Nobunaga was 1.66 m, Tokugawa Ieyasu was between 1.56m -1.60m and Uesugi Kenshin was 1.56m.
Can anyone confirm these or provide new information If im wrong?

Re: How tall were the Famous Daimyos?
There's not really that much reliable material for most people of the period. Here's one list that's pretty much on top of the japanese google results:
Source: http://blog.goo.ne.jp/sakura707_2006...e307ffe6b1a770
Source of source: mostly japanese wikipedia.
Average male height for the period: 157cm
Fuuma Kotarou (Fifth): 216cm. Hearsay.
Saitou Yoshitatsu: 197cm.
Toyotomi Hideyori: 197cm. Said to have weighted 161kg.
Toudou Takatora: 190cm. Hearsay.
Katou Kiyomasa: 191cm. But another theory is that he was merely 161cm and just wore an elongated armor.
Gotou (Matabee) Mototsugu: 182cm
Maeda Katsuie: 182cm
Naoe Kanetsugu: 182cm
Asai Nagamasa: 180cm. Hearsay.
Oda Nobunaga: Around 170cm based on his statue.
Chosokabe Motochika: Tall and heavy built, but pale and untalkative
Konishi Yukinaga: "Pale and tall, unlike a normal man"
Average:
Date Masamune: 159.4cm based on bone measurements
Tokugawa Ieyasu: 156-160cm based on his armor.
Tokugawa Hidetada: 160cm
Uesugi Kenshin: 156cm based on his armor.
Ishida Mitsunari: 156cm based on his skull.
Maeda (Keijirou) Toshimasu: Average based on armor believed to be his.
Short:
Sanada (Yukimura) Nobushige: Described as a "small man" at the siege of Osaka
Uesugi Kagekatsu: Small, untalkative, with sharp eyes. Hearsay.
Toyotomi Hideyoshi: 150-160cm
Takeda Shingen: 153cm based on his armor
Ikage Terumasa: Had a complex about his height.
Yamagata Masakage: 130-140cm, small and slender.

Re: How tall were the Famous Daimyos?
hmmm i found this for example http://blog.livedoor.jp/tamabaka/archives/51372789.html
Retroactively further, seems to have also measured the height of "Takeda Shingen" that.
It is known in the fierce fight of Shingen and Uesugi Kenshin Kawanakajima, there is a famous portrait with a fan.
I was determined to focus on the sense.
From and the length of the fan to be Tokugawa Ieyasu was used to estimate and 17cm parts paper is put, from the fact that there is a correlation between height and humerus, estimated to 31.5cm about the length of the humerus upper left place was, seems to have become the height of about 162cm. The same technique of extermination tiger "Kato Kiyomasa" was estimated to be 159cm from the sense of the portrait...
