Default Computer with SSD going to Sleep and not Waking Up

I've got a Samsung SSD in my computer and lately I've been noticing when I come home from work that the computer seems to be asleep but it wont wake up and I have to force shut down and restart.

I've heard of these issues happening sometimes with SSDs, but I've looked at my settings and the computer is set to NEVER go to sleep.

So now I'm wondering what else could be going on.

    Its a Samsung 128gb SSD
    Windows 7 64-bit OS

have you modified any of the settings in the windows sleep properties or the hibernation things?

Go in advanced settings and then configure the sleep mode, making sure that the SSD or hard drive in this case is set to "never".

    My sleep settings are:
    1) Sleep After: Never
    2) Allow Hybrid Sleep: On (That's my preference due to limited battery supply (20 mins))
    3) Hibernate after: Never
    4) Allow wake Timers: Enabled. (Again my preference)

Also if the problem is related to SSD itself then you have to tell us the exact model no. of the SSD. Lastly do you have USB devices plugged in? I use a PS2 keyboard and a USB mouse. Sometimes USB devices force the computer to remain in stasis. So you have to deal with that from the device manager. Say yes or no for this and i will state how to configure this through the DM.

Did it work as expected with the SSD until recently? If so, what if anything changed on the system that you know of? In particular were there any windows updates or driver updates that might have modified the behaviour?

Both Sleep and Hibernate are set to never. It had been working fine until recently, but I've only had the SSD for 6 months or so.

All I can say in regards to windows or driver updates is that the current settings still look right.

Can you answer 2 more questions?
    1) Do you know the exact duration after which the PC enters the sleep mode?
    2) If you yourself put your computer into sleep mode, are you able to wake it up or not?

    1) I dont know, it usually happens while I'm at work (10 hours) so hard to say. It does not go to sleep all the time though.

    2) I'm not sure, i will have to try that.

Another thing, my monitor turns off after some time, so I'm not sure if when it is always asleep when it doesn't wake up. As in, I may go in and find my monitor off, and be able to get it back on, but not know for sure if it is asleep.

It is my assertion right now that anytime it goes to sleep, it doesn't wake up. But I will test putting it to sleep my self. And I will also change the settings so that the monitor does not turn off, but only has a screensaver.

EDIT: Just put it to sleep manually, and got it to wake up. Made the fans slow down quite a bit by doing so, but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.

A few final questions. What model HDD are you using for your primary storage? Have you checked to see if your storage drive is heavily fragmented? How close are you to maxing out your available space on your storage drive? Good luck!

In your BIOS, check to see if that SSD drive is in AHCI mode or IDE mode.
