Default Fallout New Vegas on Total War system

Hello My name is CFR. I have played all of the Fallouts, even the crappy ones. I am student so I am able to get 3dmax for free and wish to mod the total war(preferably kingdoms) for a Fallout New Vegas. I have already looked and got a basic idea for a map, but I will need to learn how to do mapping first. I have a basic idea. I also am versed in coding as well as skinning. I have been practicing for a short time with GIMP. I do have a couple questions:
    1. How many factions are allowed in Medieval total war vs Kingdoms?

    2. Which is more compatible with ranged projectiles that come from weapons of a futuristic nature(Guns/Energy Weapons)?

    3. Anyone interested in helping?

    4. Has anyone tried this before?

    Goals of the project(short term)
Warning no dates as that would be unrealistic
    1. To Create models of NCR troopers.
    2. To Skin those models.(hehe read out loud)
    3. To Create Models of Legionaries(recruit probably first)
    4. To Skin those models.
    5. To create a map of Hoover Dam.
    6. Test mechanics in "historical" battle.

    Potential Faction List
    Caesars Legion
    New California Republic
    Brotherhood of Steel
    Robert House and His Securitrons
Great Khans(allied with Legion at begining of Game)
    Boomers
    Raiders
    Fiends

Faction is defined as being army with force enough to threaten the power balance of wasteland. Now it arguable that the Kings hold alot of power, at least in Freeside, we could never consider them a faction in this game because they don't hold a army(NCR trooper rip threw them like paper) and their ending isn't really significant. If Freeside isn't stable who cares? The fiends on the other hand are a army. They are powerful enough to threaten Outer Vegas and take Camp Mccaren. Any group with that kind of power should be a faction.

    Use Kingdoms. Simple as that.

    Very ambitious goal. Good luck

The faction limit is 31 (including rebels)

Sounds interesting! I dunno how good it'd work on Total War, but sounds damn interesting, and I love me some Fallout New Vegas. I am of no help though, except for suggestions

I'd say use the lowest unit sizes possible. Like, no units over 30 men

Rebels can be replaced with critters(STACK OF DEATHCLAWS) since the Fiends=only Raiders in the game pretty much

    SPOILERS FOR NEW VEGAS AHEAD

I'd suggest doing some fanfiction type stuff. Hyrule Total War(based on Legend of Zelda) is like that, and sounds good. Need to fiddle with the story to make New Vegas into some real Total War. Maybe have it after the Second Battle of Hoover Dam, New Vegas itself is a vague faction(not stated that its under Mr House or the Courier), the Legion is pushed back but rebuilding its forces or something

Good luck and i agree with you, it's better to start from an historical battle.

Whose mod is that maybe I can help them?

I don't think all of North America is compatible with Fallout, given that we have absolutely no idea about Canada or Mexico or the South. All the Fallouts that are Canon take place on the far west or the far east.

    Fallout:California
Fallout 2: Basically still California/ some Nevada not much
    Fallout Tactics BOS: Midwest/Chicago
Fallout New Vegas: Nevada, Utah, The Divide(not sure where that actually is) and some other places we know from this game like Denver

We know alot of information but I think it would dishonest to create a Fallout game that is non-canon or wouldn't make sense in Canon terms.

For example, they could have different campigns for Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas therefore allowing a larger list of factions. And this would be particularly interesting because in Custom Battle you could fight who ever you wanted versus each other but I doubt a full campign can be made for the United States. The knowledge of the Fallout Universe we have is limited.

This sounds very cool i must say, and i'd love to help, but the problem is i am a total noob concerning modding.

I could help with writing stuff like the faction bio's.

Welcome aboard! I always need help with that kind of stuff as I want the faction bio's to be unique and not copy and paste type things.

How familiar are you with the fallout series?

    Great.
You could help me with the faction list for one. And you can tell me which is your favorite?

    Favorite game or faction?

    I like NV/3 equally much.

My favorite NV faction used to be NCR, but after some reading and playing i tend to like the Legion more.

    Legion Faction Description
    "In hoc signo taurus vinces"
In this sign you, the bull, will conquer. The Legion has always had one purpose, uniting humanity. For them to serve this purpose requires total sacrifice. Total commitment. Total War. Humanity effectively is progress state of 0. The human beings of post-apocalyptic wasteland are morally corrupt individuals and can be seen as animals. In truth, the Legion has given a great many tribes a great gift, enslavement. The truth for the Legion is that no individual, no matter how much he dillutes himself, has any value beyond their utility to the state. This is why Joshua Graham was sentenced to death, Joshua Graham had to learn that the Legion doesn't allow weakness. Humanity under the old world governments and under the NCR has been terrible. The Legion perceives the sectionalism and consumerism as weakness and moral depravity. Legionaries are taught from the begining that life isn't meant to be easy for some and hard for all of the others, it must be hard for all or easy for all. Some of NCR will say what about Caesar? Some say Caesar has had the toughest life of all. Caesar has built the Legion, and the Legion has made him a war machine. Caesar sees the people of the wasteland and, contary to popular opinion, he cares about them. He wants to make them more than they are. He wants to make them more than animals as the Legion sees them. You see animals are individuals who only live to survive and cannot devote themselves to purpose. NCR takes these animals and makes them think they are free. But what is freedom in the face of purpose and accomplishment? The Legion will say nothing and they will bring Civilization and purpose to the Wasteland, no matter the cost.

I'd say just make it the Southwest and California. From backstory you can peice together most of like Utah and Legion Territory

The midwest..is kinda blank. There stuff about Chicago being an Enclave outpost, and Texas from one of the tactics games though. The South...nothing. All we know about the South is the Outer Banks are the Broken Banks, and parts of Virginia are in Fallout 3

But not enough to really get something going I think

Also, the Southwest is the most "factional". If you included the East Coast, you'd have the Vault 87 Super Mutants, the Brotherhood of Steel, the Enclave(Maybe...), uh...the Slavers. Not sure who else. But thats mostly minor type faction and not warry enough.
