As I have talked with Adamat and he is okay with me taking over House Greyjoy, I will try to return with them into the game.

    --------------------------------------

    House Greyjoy of Pyke

    House History House History

The House descends from the Grey King, a legendary figure from the Age of Heroes. The Greyjoys became the lords paramount of the Iron Isles during the Targaryen Conquest: after Aegon I extinguished House Hoare, he allowed the ironborn to choose who would have primacy over them. They chose Vickon Greyjoy and his line. The Greyjoys have ruled ever since, from their formidable castle of Pyke. The ironborn, however, did lose theRiverlands, which were granted to Edmyn Tully and his descendents.
Thus relegated to their dismal homeland and constrained by the king's peace, the Greyjoys have kept themselves distant from the other Great Houses, rarely taking part in events on the mainland (which they call the "green lands"). At various times they have tried to return to their ancient practices of raiding the western coastlines, though they have been defeated every time.

Recently an internal conflict in the House had nearly brought the Islands to war, but before the news even reached Kings Landing it was over. The old Lord Paramount was dead, heart failure, and internal strive has brought a new Lord Reaper, the cousin of the former one, Lord Rodrik Greyjoy. Behind him he has the power of the Drowned Priests and some of the more powerful houses.

    Main Characters:

    Main Characters Rodrik Greyjoy

    Age: 64
Rank: Lord Paramount of the Iron Isles and Lord Reaper of Pyke
The old, hardened and grumpy Rodrik has just recently taken the title of Lord Paramount, after a falling out inside the lines of the Greyjoy family. Once a mighty warrior, skilled captain and drunkard, now a not so mighty warrior, still skilled captain and drunkard. He eats, he feasts, he enjoys his women and he is all in all a disgrace to his house, if it weren't for the fact that he IS Lord Paramount.

Rarely a smile on his face, often a cup in his hands, his hair unkempt, his body old, the old man is a pitiful but terrifying sight to behold, as his wrath is sudden and brutal. Yet he is also proud and often says that even his daughters are worth more than a hundred Lannister sons, as he despises the “Lionlovers” (his words). Luckily for the isles, he let most of the ruling to his advisers and, and that's quite surprising, his daughter.

By the way, he has a lot of bastard sons and daughters and is not above using them.

    Skills (22):
    Duels +4
    Field Battles +6
    Fist Fighter +2
    Survival +2
    Escape +3
    Sea Captain +5

    Urriya Drumm

    Age: 37
    Rank: Lady of Old Wyk
The second daughter of Rodrik Greyjoy and widow to Lord Quellon Drumm is a beautiful but deadly woman, with wits as sharp as any knife and a tongue that spits silk and poison. When she was married off to her husband she was forced to endure a marriage reminding someone else of torture and imprisonment. When she became pregnant with her son her husband died at the sea in a storm, rumors telling about how the entire surviving crew were rewarded handsomely for “Bringing back his corpse”.

Since her father has taken over the Lordship of Pyke she had resettled to Pyke together with her son, the now de-facto heir of the Iron Islands. She runs the household with an iron fist and has all advisers of her father in her pockets, be it through money, blackmail or favor. She IS the Lord Reaper of Pyke in all but name, as even her father listens to her commands, disguised as smooth advice.

    Skills (12):
    Birth +2
    Income +3 / Tier 2 / +5%
    Assasination +3
    Fate +1
    Survival +3

    Urrigon Greyjoy

    Age: 45
Rank: Damphair and Captain of the “Robin's Gambit”

As the second born son of, now, Lord Greyjoy Urrigon had no chance of ever getting anything despite that what he could earn by his self. His first born twin brother was in line to inherit their fathers title, so that he sat out and became an adventurer. His ship he won in Gulltown from some lordling and named it after him, playing at the fact that the poor man lost it in a game of dice.

After nearly being drowned by a group of thugs in Braavos he found religion, as strange as it sounds. When he returned to the Islands he joined the church of the Drowned God but still kept his ship as he understood, that the Drowned God had wanted for him to get it. When his father got the position of Lord Paramount after the incident that had killed Urrigons Brother, he should have become Heir, but as he was a Priest of the Drowned God he had no choice but to decline, making his nephew heir.

    Skills (16):
    Duels +4
    Field Battle +2
    Pillager +4 / Tier 2 / +5%
    Sea Captain +4
    Survival +2

    Donel Greyjoy / Drumm

    Age: 22
Rank: Sworn Sword, Heir of Pyke, Heir of Old Wyk (In Name)

As the son of a brutal man and raised by an intelligent mother and on Old Wyk, Donel is an Iron Islander. He does not see himself as Greyjoy, as he has taken the name recently by his grandfathers request, nor as Drumm, by the name he was born with. In his mind he is an Iron Islander, the best of the best, raised with sword, axe, wit and harsh lessons. He learned from a captain, a drowned priest, a maester and an old master of arms, giving him all the lessons he needed to lead Old Wyk... and now perhaps even the whole Iron Islands.

When he was forced to come to Pyke he learned fast that his grandfather is a despicable pig, far too deep in his cups. He has no love for him and can hardly wait till the man dies and he takes over. So far he is comfortable with waiting, honing his skills and learning. When he becomes Lord Paramoung he could lead the Iron Islands to greatness... or into despair. The old ways or perhaps a new way? No one can really say.

    Skills (+6):
    Archer +2
    Duels +2
    Fate +2

    Aux Characters
    Alannys Greyjoy
    Alannys Greyjoy
    Age: 21
    Rank: Daughter of Lord Greyjoy

One of the youngest trueborn children of Lord Greyjoy, the young woman with the name Alannys is a smart, skilled woman, luckily taken after her mother and not after her father. Though her manners could really get a little help, but that's what you get when you let a small girl grow up with lots and lots of brothers.

Alannys is flirty, smart, loves a good drink and the smell of sea and wind in her face, has a taste for riding and nearly no patience for a lot of the more womanly things in life... except perhaps luxury.

    Argo Pyke
    Argo Pyke
    Age: 34
Rank: Captain of the Household Guard and Bastard Son of Lord Greyjoy

The passionate, brutal and wild Argo is one off the many offsprings of his fathers unfaithfull trysts. He comes strongly after his father, being willing to indulge in brutal combat, raids, rape, drink and wild feasts. But he IS a good warrior and skilled captain, the reason why his father has made him into the captain of his household guard. He even takes his responsibilities serious, though sometimes he indulges in drink while on duty. He also serves as part time executioner and torturer if he finds the time.

    Dagon Greyjoy
    Dagon Greyjoy
    Age:
    31
Rank: Son of Lord Greyjoy and Captain of his own ship

As one of the trueborn sons of Lord Greyjoy, the only one born to Gwenya Greyjoy the third wife of Lord Rodrik Greyjoy, Dagon was born with sealegs. He may be a brave warrior and loyal servant, but also not very bright and neither is he interested in being anything more than he currently is, a retainer for his father (or lap dog as some would say). Quit, stoic and also a good secret keeper, the young man is strangely one of the few Greyjoys who is faithful to his wife, a young woman, merely a girl, from a lowly House.

    House Florent

    Mains Lord Tristan Florent
    Age: 47
    Skills (16):
    Joust +4
    Survival +4
    Field Battles +4
    Siege battles +2
    Duels +2
Tristan Florent is a very, very vain, typical knight of the reach. The things that are most dear to him are wealth and honor, and as a result he hoards those wherever he can. Due to a slight of Mace Tyrell some 10 years ago already, the Lord of Brightwater Keep sided with Mace's opponent in the war for the reach, even though he still believes the Reach is rightfully his all those years after the conquest. After all, he does have the stronger claim.

    Ser Erren Florent
    Age: 25
    Skills (8):
    +2 Jousts
    +2 Duels
    +2 Field Battles
    +2 Siege Battles
Ser Erren is a true knight, usually clad in armour polished to a shine and riding the biggest, prettiest horse in the stables. He is an impressive fighter and tactician for his age, but he is known to go down pretty easily once you get his defenses down. His childhood was riddled with strange and stranger diseases, and the result of one of them is a fairly weak immune system, which shows in the fact he has been poisoned by food 3 times last year.

    Ser Kevan Florent
    Age: 22
    Skills (6):
    +2 survival
    +2 jousts
    +2 duels
Ser Kevan is, unlike his older brother and father, not the best knight in the world. He despises pretty armour, often saying "That nice golden rim won't save your ass on the battlefield" and such when he sees his friends and family in yet another beautiful suit of plate. The ideas of chivalry didn't catch onto him neither, being very effective but much less virtuous.

    The Free Companies

From across the Hills of Norvos, the Rhoyne, the Disputed Lands, and along Braavosi and Orange Coasts,
many a man has learned to fear soldiers of fortune, who, in times of peace, turn from rules and pitched battle to pillaging and preying upon the helpless and innocent.

Now, many of the Free Companies of Essos have come together under the banner of Maelgwn the Andal, who has become famed for his strategy of avoiding pitched battles,
endlessly harassing his many enemies through pillaging, scorching the earth, skirmishing, treachery, and fear.
He has come to lead the many Free Companies due to his victorious campaigns on the Rhoyne and his most recent claim to fame with the Battle of Golden Fields.

    Maelgwn the Andal

39 years of age, born 118 AL

Born in the hilly lands of knolls and headlands, the eponymous homeland of the Andals, Maelgwn is descended from the tribes who stayed in Andalos.
He entered the soldier's life at a young age, and showing potential to an old strategist and adviser to the Archon of Lorath, Maelgwn obtained an education in the traditional military theorems of Essos.

After the death of his master and the fulfillment of his education (he had learned all he could in the Free Cities' citadels of knowledge), he wandered the western palaces and wastelands of the east, serving and soldiering about, and eventually, began to gain experience at the helm of his own company, the Headsmen.

As such, he gained fame and recognition for his methods, and in 149, he was contracted by Lys and Myr to stomp a Volantene campaign in the Rhoyne; the two cities wished to see the Volantene city keep its mediocrity rather than rise to power once again, and hoped the apparent prodigy would fulfill such wishes.

Indeed he did, as he met the Volantene hosts north of Valysar, and using the Rhoyne itself as a buffer, played a game of cat and mouse up and down the great river, depleting the Volantene numbers through tricks and skirmishes, even poisoning them with a lesser plague at one point.
A decisive, pitched battle was not met until 153 AL, when Maelgwn led them into the Golden Fields and massacred the bulk of the Volantene host north of the fork, burning the dead fields near the fork with fire and protecting his own troops by ripping a vast strip of grass between the fire and his army, so that the fire would not pass there.

Now, the many Free Companies have flocked to Maelgwn the Andal, his rangy red-brown hair, green eyes, and youthful health now a paragon of leadership in Essos.

On the urging of Pontifex and Gandalf I've decided I shall give this Community RPG thing a try, rather than making guest appearances in the Shed every few days! So without further delay....

House Lefford of the Golden Tooth

    House Information

A House of the Westerlands, House Lefford owes loyalty to the great House Lannister of Casterly Rock. Located in the mountainous fortress of Golden Tooth, the Leffords are the guardians of the sole mountain pass leading from the Riverlands into the Westerlands: no army may pass between the two regions without first holding the Golden Tooth.

The Castle of Golden Tooth, overlooking the mountain pass it controls. As a sign of the great loyalty of House Lefford to the Lannisters of Casterly Rock, the fortress faces east, with the western ramparts much smaller and less formidable.

The Lord of Golden Tooth is a wealthy and powerful Lord in the Westerlands, commanding deep gold mines that generate great wealth for both himself and House Lannister. Gold from these mines can be seen regularly in Lannister purses, and soldiers from this House can be seen regularly in Lannister Hosts.

    Characters

Lord Harmund Lefford, Lord of Golden Tooth

Harmund Lefford, Lord of Golden Tooth, Bannerman of House Lannister

Harmund Lefford was never a great swordsman: even as a young man his skills lay with thinking rather than in his sword arm. While the other young noblemen sparred with swords and impressed the ladies with feats of skill, Harmund would read books. Books of strategy, commerce, politics, fiction, family history: if it was written down he would read it. The result was a man who was far more terrifying when in charge of soldiers than when amongst them, a man far more skilled at administrating than at sword fighting, and a man far more educated than most. His mind, not his sword arm, is the most dangerous part of this man. As Lord of Golden Tooth, he keeps the precious gold mines running and maintains his Estate with care, always ensuring that no enemy of the Westerlands passes along his roads unopposed.

    Age: 41
Rank: Head of House Lefford, Lord of Golden Tooth
Total Trait Points: 14 (2 from turning age 10, 6x2 = 14 from every 5 year period after that up to age 45)

Military Mind (Field Battles +4, Sieges +4): Harmund has a keen understanding of the military sciences and is a capable commander of troops in any engagement.
Administrator (Income +3 [5%]): Harmund takes a personal interest in ensuring the local gold mines run efficiently, and uses his education to both improve efficiency or to seek out those who can.
Cautious (Survival +3): Harmund is no warrior and he knows it. While some would call him a coward, Harmund is not foolhardy with his life.

    Raymar Lefford

Raymar Lefford, Heir to Golden Tooth

Raymar Lefford is quite the opposite of his father: much more interested in fighting in a battle than controlling it from afar. Like many young noblemen, he takes great pride in being a skilled swordsman and spends a lot of time practicing his skill-at-arms. Often rash in action, he believes in tackling problems head on and carrying the day through superior bravery and mettle than in devising complex strategies over a map table.

    Age: 20
Rank: Sworn Sword and Heir to Golden Tooth
Total Trait Points: 6 (2 from age 10, 2x2 for 5 year periods)

Swordsman (+2 Duels): Raymar spends a lot of time sparring with friends and trainers, and has acquired some skill with a sword as a result.
Chivalric (+2 Capture): Even as enemies, a nobleman is a nobleman. Capture and ransom are the way of the Gentry, only the peasants die.
Agile (+2 Survival): Spending a lot of time sparring makes one as good at dodging sword blows as in dealing them. Raymar is quick on his feet and is able to dodge attacks aimed at him.

    Ser Ulfric of Sarsfield

Ulfric is a seasoned man-at-arms and a long-time soldier in the pay of House Lefford. A trusted Lieutenant of Lord Lefford, he often acts as a bodyguard or taskmaster for his Lord, ensuring things happen when Harmund wants them to happen and things don't happen when Harmund doesn't want them to happen. He is a skilled swordsman and ruthless man: his one virtue in life is loyalty to his leige lord. Rarely seen apart from Lord Lefford, and it is a safe bet that when he's apart from his Lord it is because his Lord has sent him on a task.

    Age: 37
    Rank: Sworn Sword
Total Trait Points: 12 (2 from turning 10 and 5x2 from 5 year intervals)

Swordsman (+3 duels): A capable man-at-arms, Ulfric is skilled with a sword and confident in battle. He is often found at the side of Lord Harmund, commanding his retinue.
Veteran (+3 survival): Ulfric has too many scars to count and has killed too many men to remember. He is able to hold his own even in the chaos of battle.
Knight (+3 jousting): As a seasoned Knight, Ulfric has seen his share of tournaments and of battles. He is a capable lancer.
Cunning (+3 escape): Capture is a part of war, and Ulfric has seen every part of war. Escape is also a part of war: a very important part. Captured soldiers can't keep killing their enemies.

    House Durrendon
House Durrendon was the great house of the Stormlands before the invasion of Aegon Targaryen. Lord Argilac who died while fighting the Targaryens left behind a son and a Säugetier. When his younger sister married Orys Baratheon, Robert Durrendon and his son Edric Durrendon fled to Dorne. After more than a century of exile their descendants have returned to the Stormlands to reclaim their birthright. They ask all Stormlanders to take up arms against the Baratheon pretenders and to restore the Stormking to his throne.

King Byrce Durrendon of the Stormlands
Byrce is both a deadly fighter and a good politician. These skills will undoubtedly aid him in retaking the Stormlands. Since he could talk and walk he was educated by maesters and taught to fight by knights. However true to the Durrendon words he is quick to anger and merciless when in rage. He trusts his son and heir Tommen Durrendon to help him plan battles and discuss strategy.
    Age:35
    Rank: Stormking
    Total Trait points: 10
Great Commander (+2 field battles, +3 seiges)
    Excellent Politician (+5 diplomacy)

    Prince Tommen Durrendon
Tommen like his father was brought up to be a good fighter and ruler. He dreams of ruling over the Stormlands, but is intelligent enough to know the difficulties. He is his fathers most trusted advisor and general. He is known for his rash decisions when provocated.
    Age:15
    Rank:Stormprince
    Total trait points: 4
Good General (+2 field battles, +2 seiges)

You cannot play an extinct house, let alone jump in and expect to be able to overrun someone else.

Edit: Not to mention: You are not a king unless you sit on the Iron Throne. Sorry bud.

I back this decision as well. There is no canon evidence of this house existing further than the assimilation into House Baratheon through the marriage of Argilac's only child and daughter to Orys Baratheon.

Plus, as BF said, you can only be King if you sit on the Iron Throne.

You can be king if you aren't on the throne. You can seek independence by declaring yourself king in your region. However the stormkings died out I guess he could do something like zeus did and revive a dead house. However that involves starting as a Landless knight and working up.

Oh dear...... The extinct house topic is one thing, but to insert a family line by marriage of Orys Baratheon who my Orysten was named after, is just discourteous. He is the grandfather of my people. Well a couple more gens back lol.

    Darryn Mudd
    Age 24
Darryn is descended from the old Kings of Rivers and hills. Like many of his predecessors he fought among the many mercenary companies of Essos. Eventually he came to lead his own band. He became well known in Essos as someone who would never break a contract. He fought many battles on both sides of the fight. One day Maelgwn the Andal came to ask Darryn's help in venturing to Westeros. He challenged Maelwn to a duel to see who would lead the band. Darryn lost. After a long duel that gave him a small scar across his cheek he lost. Now he follows Maelgwn to Westeros in search of money glory and hopefully a chance to reclaim his houses keep ancient keep.

Since when can we play as registered merc companies?

    Additional characters

    Olenna Osgrey
Olenna, Lady of a small plot of land around Brightwater Keep, has been levied into action by Lord Florent. She was the only child of Lord Osgrey, a famous archer who won numerous archery contests back in his day. Although his bowmanship did pass on to his daughter, his cravenness in battle did not. The Lady Osgrey fancies herself a Valkyrie, often leading from the front lines firing away mounted on a swift Dornish steed.

    Ronnel Hearsh
Ronnel Hearsh is, unlike his name and demeanor suggest, actually of Dornish heritage. House Hearsh, an old and very small House under the jurisdiction of Tyrell, was exiled to the Dornish deserts after a minor land dispute which had incurred Tyrell's wrath. WiP
