Going off of LotR Maglor would presumably be gone/dead:
"The sons of Eärendil were Elros and Elrond, the Peredhil or Half-elven. In them alone the line of the heroic chieftains of the Edain in the First Age was preserved; and after the fall of Gil-galad the lineage of the High-elven Kings was also in Middle-earth only represented by their descendants."

OTOH, we do not know when Glorfindel departed...

Or perhaps Maglor is intentionally not counted amongst them. I don't think that any of the Elves by the time of the Third Age would really know what happened to him after he was last seen.

    Hey Guys,
I was watching TFOTR, and in the mines of Moria scene, when Gandalf tells the company to run, why does Aragorn still try to go and fight the enemy, even after Gandalf specifically says that its a Balrog...
I found it strange that while being fostered by Elrond, who raised him as a possible king, shouldn't Aragorn know all about what are balrogs, and the range of their power...? Also, Legolas seems to know about that and raises no objection, to fleeing....

Well if memory serves me both Aragorn and Boromir remained to cover the retreat of the rest of the company. IIRC there is a passage in which one hobbit (mm Frodo? mommy please help me), told this story of the bridge of Moria and actually his interlocutor (possibly Faramir) told him in return that probably Boromir was not so eager to fly.

What I'm trying to tell is that both Aragorn and Boromir were stern men, not accustomed to fly in front of enemies, might they be orcs, men or mayar; furthermore, Aragorn (in the book) is already wielding Anduril, which is a sword strong enough to face a Balrog I deem. Finally, if the bridge wasn't going to crumble, the Fellowship probably needed the sacrifice not only of Gandalf, but of Aragarn and Boromir too, in order to gain enough time for the rest to flee.

Loyalty meant more to them than the fear of the monster, apperently, and I'm open to Flinn's line of thought as well.
'Over the bridge!' cried Gandalf, recalling his strength. `Fly! This is a foe beyond any of you. I must hold the narrow way. Fly! ' Aragorn and Boromir did not heed the command, but still held their ground, side by side, behind Gandalf at the far end of the bridge. The others halted just within the doorway at the hall's end, and turned, unable to leave their leader to face the enemy alone.
    ...
'You cannot pass! ' he said.
With a bound the Balrog leaped full upon the bridge. Its whip whirled and hissed.
'He cannot stand alone! ' cried Aragorn suddenly and ran back along the bridge. 'Elendil!' he shouted. 'I am with you, Gandalf! '
`Gondor! ' cried Boromir and leaped after him.
At that moment Gandalf lifted his staff, and crying aloud he smote the bridge before him.

Is there mention of currencies in Middle Earth or is it just gold?
It's not a question of where it grips it. It's a simple questions of weight ratios; a five ounce bird could not carry a one pound coconut.

There's also pennies, mentioned in use in Eriador, in FotR.

As far as I've heard, but never played it, it is a fun and good game, while not very aligned to lore

Hi all! Just finished a proper read-through of LoTR (took me over a year, I don't get much time to read) and I'm now going through the appendix. In the part about the fall of the Kingdom of Arnor, it mentioned that during the wars against Angmar a large part of Arnor (in the east, IIRC) was devastated, causing the people there to flee Arnor over the Misty Mountains and settle around the Gladden. It's mentioned that these people were called the Stoors. Bearing in mind that Isildur was ambushed at the Gladden Fields and Sméagol then found the Ring in a river near where he lived, is it reasonable to assume that Sméagol is/was a Stoor? I know that in the films Frodo mentions that Gollum "was not unlike a Hobbit, once" but I can't remember if/where in the books he says this.

So are/were the Stoors a Halfling-like race, perhaps related to the Hobbits of the Shire but separated from them by the war with Angmar? Do the Stoors still live by the Gladden or even still exist by the time of the War of the Ring? Sorry if this has been asked before.

    pretty much yes

Stoors were a people (more than a race I would say) of the Hobbits (along with Fallohides and Harfoots); by the time of the tales of Bilbo and Frodo the three peoples have largely mixed and pretty much each hobbit can recall to have an anchestor in each of the three, although it was possible to recognize the preminence of one of them in many cases.
