Well they were weakened a lot and a shadow of their past but they could have posed as a considerable defensive force hence Philipp wouldn't bother confronting them. His ambition of uniting Greece was under way and Spartans weren't exactly popular among other Greeks or a desired ally in order to rally them against Philipp
