Foreign armies invade England. While Harald Hardråde attack York, Harold Godwineson rush to defend London against the Norman army of William Bastard. There Harold is defeated and 5000 of his men slain, while the Norman army lost close to 2000 men.
Duke Gyrth of Norfolk raise an army of 308 men and take to the sea. Landing where he can and re-claiming land lost to the Norwegian king Harald. His effort will prove to empty the norwegian coffers and prolong the campaign until only 1300 norwegians remain.
King Harold, how ever, does not understand to change his tactics or focus on any opponent. Constantly facing the enemy in pitched battles against unsurmountable odds will eventually cost him the crown of England.
