Hmm....send me a picture and I will see what I can do. I'm not as fast as Andy so expect a couple of weeks for me to model the object from scratch.

Note - in our time frame RTW2 the Spartan units looks different. Also Carthage had no more his "Sacred Band" chilarchia - only two Ile (Alae) of Sacred Band Cavalry located in Utica and the other in the city of Carthage. Thats the historical sources !

Because I would have expected from a Thracian to fight barefoot, but not so much from a Macedonian. Of course I could be wrong.

Another excellent model, by the way

P.S. and the Spartan some posts above is breathtaking!!

Cool, I really like the first one. I'll model it and try to give you periodic updates. Keep in mind that it can take up to a month for me to complete since I only have a couple of hours each night to model (after work and putting the kids to bed). This should be a fun challenge!

Dude - you are under no obligation to do this at all. I hope you find it fun however!

But I model all of my own stuff from scratch, including rigging. Will you be using Poser, or creating all of your own stuff?

Your Spartan Hoplit are full bought Michael 3 figures for poser or ???

The most of my 3d figures are created with 3ds max and rendered with Poser Pro 2012.

Sorry, but NONE of my stuff is bought, borrowed, or from anywhere else. I have modeled every bit of it myself. I can show you the wires for all of my objects.

Thanks. That is the reason why it takes me so long. The only thing I will reuse is the base character model I created a while ago in Modo (I have a couple). I do however rig it every time I do a new model since I am still learning how to rig and haven't quite perfected it yet. It is a good way to practice.

Okay, here we go. This is the rigged model I will use for the Sacred band model. I will try to show periodic updates on the progress, unless you guys think it a waste of time. The purpose is to demonstrate the process, since many people simply do not know what is involved in modeling an object. If I get any objections, I will stop. I don't want to pollute this thread with "work-in-progress" screenshots. The nice thing about doing it this way is that I can get peoples input on how they would like the final model to look.

    I'm sure he'll look great.

I am definatley one of those people that does not know what is involved in making a 3d piece of art.

Thank you Sharpe, I appreciate the vote of confidence. Let's hope I do it justice.

This is the under garment -started off as a cube and manipulated until I got the shape I wanted (first image), then subdivided (second image). This give me the a very basic object to work with. I wont start adding the details, such as wrinkles and folds until the model is almost done. Next object will be the breast plate.
