Default Question on changing unit multiplier

Hi, I read the instructions for changing the unit multiplier to two.

    1. Launch the game and choose whatever graphics you want.

    2. Open preferences file and change the unit size to 2 AND change to 3 (change to ultra) the size of game units (itīs a line at the bottom of preferences)

    3. Save the modified file AND protect it against writing (right click on preferences file, then properties, then choose "Read only", CLICK APPLY and the accept)

    4. Now launch the game, AND DONīT OPEN THE OPTIONS OR GRAPHICAL OPTIONS WILL BE RESET, and start a campaign. You should then get whatever number of men you wanted.

More detailed instructions can be found in the NTW modding tutorials (regarding changing unit size. NTW tutorials about this are valid for ETW).
My question is which preferences file are you describing above? In other words, where can I locate this file. It would be great if you could help me. Thank you.

it's in your user files. So, the folder with the name of your computer, App data folder, Roaming, The Creative Assembly, Napoleon, Scrips

For Empire its not Napoleon but Empire of course...

And its also good idea to make that file read only so game wont make changes to it. THis way you wont be able to change graphic from the game (it wont be saved after you close the game) but this way game wont set the multiplier to crazy number which results in having units of size 1 for new campaign...

Ok, I tried to find an answer from google on how to make the hidden files of CA visible, and I used to know how to do it. But, could someone please explain it to me, again? Thank you!!

you have to set all folders to visible. It's a window option. Open the My computer folder, press alt go to tools, folder options, second tab (I'm using pt version of window, forgot the name of the tab in english) and you have a set of options to change files and folders properties. You select to option to show hidden files.

Thank you all. I successfully installed and changed the multiplier. Pretty good stuff. I played a few skirmish battles. Really enjoy the overall change. Good job guys!
