    Default Rito Faction Ideas

    What suggestions do people have for the custom battle only faction the rito? Im hoping for an emphasis on speed as an overall trait and possibly low armour, more reliant on bows, spear throwing units and spearmen than heavier troops, maybe have heavier troops with spearwall formation like the ironclads?

    Also obviously a flying unit or two would be awesome

    heroes: medli, prince komali, quill, the cheiftan, possibly a version of valoo akin to the twilight dragon design?

    It'd be cool if Zephos and Cyclos could serve as a single general. Like King Dodongo being two seperate models.
    Idea! If the Helmasaur King in the wildlife refers to the other nam, Helmaroc King, then I can see it being subjugated by the Rito. Else normal kargorocs.
    And bomb flowers! Thinkin' Rito dive bombing with bombs.
    Maybe some characters from the ST or PH?

    Valoo should definitely be there yes.

    The Helmaroc King belonged to Ganondorf though.
    I could see the regular ones being tamed and trained for war.

    btw helmasaur king that will be a wildlife boss refers to the boss of the dark palace in ALTTP its not a mix up with helmaroc king

    The Rito Units I would recommend and how the Rito Fight, I shall list below.

    The Rito tribe are profoundly connected to the sky. And they make their livings on the airways.
    This is showed in there form of fighting.
    Rito are slightly frailer then other race and are extremely mobile.
    All Rito have good stamina. And have the Recon trait do to flapping their wings for increased speed.
    Rito Solders are disciplined and organized moving as one gust of wind.

    1: Rito regulars; the most common Rito solder that does the rule of Basic light infantry, armed with a saber and light armor.
    <traits> Melee
    2: Land archer; flightless Rito armed with a bow. wearing light armor.
    <traits> Ranged,
    3: Land Javelins; flightless Rito armed with heavy javelins. wearing light armor.
    <traits> Ranged, Pole-arm
    4: Lance runners; Rito capable of flight, yet chooses to run on the ground to increase speed. they wear no or little armor. welding a counter balance two handed lance. with such high speed and penetration the Lance runner is a fair replacement for light Cavalry.
    <traits> Pole-arm, Cavalry
    5: Air Archers; flying Rito armed with a bow, with no or little armor.
    <traits> Ranged, Flying
    6: Air talons; flying Rito armed with metal Gauntlets sharpened and in the form of Talons, Rito Martial arts disciple.
    <traits> Melee, Flying
    7: Rito Phalanx; these Rito are meant to hold ground. they wear descent armor compared to other Rito Solders. They fight in a Phalanx formation and are armed with a shield, and a spear. (I've seen this type of unit in the "Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms, so the program is there. )
    <traits> Melee, Heavily Armored


    Rito companions are a wide range of lesser race that serve the Rito.
    They are not disciplined or organized, but are like a violent storm blowing whichever way at any moment.

    The Rito people resemble condors, or possibly hawks, and seem to have some relation with some sort of sort of Native American culture, the most suggestible being Andean culture:

    The Helmaroc King belonged to Ganondorf though.
    I could see the regular ones being tamed and trained for war.
    That was future Ganondorf. I'm pretty sure the one in this game is the hot-blooded young idiot Ganondorf.
    Besides, with some lore twisting I can imagine they would need to take out one of the biggest flying monsters if it's threatening others. Who better than the Rito?
    Wouldn't that be just random?
    There's already some random races. The Yook were on the islands. The ones in the mountains were Yetis.
    It'd be cool if Zephos and Cyclos could serve as a single general. Like King Dodongo being two seperate models.
    Also, Duke. What do you think about this?^
    Those are one of the few things I liked from the manga! Volvagia being a pet I liked too.

    I meant their affiliation to the Rito, not their inclusion in the mod.

    Mh... I don't remember which one, but one of the Wind Gods was not particularly friendly with mortals. Maybe it would be more fun if that one was some kind of "boss event" instead of being a Rito hero?
    Just a thought, I'm fine with having both fight for them as a unit.

    Forgive me all, If I'm not to the standard of some of my recommendations.
    Like what I gave to the Twili Bulblins. I have never played TWW. and only seen it played. so the Ideas I give about it are limited.

    @ nintendo64isking, Encablossa, Duke Serkol, and others.
    I would like to know if anyone has something against the units I recommended for the Rito. Like why they would not have that. Or according to lore that would not work. Etc.


    For Bosses/heroes I would recommend.
    Zephos and Cyclos; Zephos supports Rito Morale. while Cyclos blows the enemies away.

    Having all three may be unnecessary, especially since the latter is from another dimension (where I figure he's needed being its deity of winds).

    They don't really need mages... and those frogs serve the Wind God of the Ocean King's world.

    Those are my objections, other than that everything seems good to me.

    That's a lot of specific characters. I'm thinking there's possibly a limit on generals per faction?
    Maybe they could be hired in the campaign as mercenaries since they don't have there own faction. But maybe there's a cap on mercenaries too.
    Nonetheless, I can see most of those as being plausible. We;;, maybe not the toads. Me thinks theym and gold chief are more aquatic based than flying.

    Rito hero's should be Valoo, Medli, Prince Komali, Quill, and The Chieften. That is all of the Rito that were really important.


    Cyclos and Zephos were more about the wind waker item then any affiliation to the rito. Their shrine was on Dragon Roost Island, but that was likely due to it being the location of one of the first temples in the game, after which you recieved the wind waker and learn to alter the wind. Which you could then talk to Zephos and he told you about Cyclos going rogue. Again the only affilation they had with the rito is that their shrine was near the island, they are more wind gods affiliated with the wind waker then anything.

    While going through my systems logs, I found the game looking for Rito symbols. This tells me that (sorry Neph if I spoiled anything) Nephalim already plans on including them in the mod (as we have already guessed, but now we have concrete proof). With that in mind, let's get these suggestions rolling!

    Also, Nephalim, I found a misspelling of Orhat as "Orat" in the logs, but I will repost that in the bug thread.

    Right then. Don't know why the game is searching for Rito faction symbols in that case. Might be worth checking...

    Regardless, I am not disappointed due to the simple fact that the screenshot you have provided is awesome. Now... just to figure out who that guy in the portrait is.

    That look's to me like the Hero's Shade armor.
    Edit: I mixed them up with a different race. Not sure what it was called though.

    Na, not cobble. Cobble was a Egyptian like society and the undead link dude armor is def not from PH. So i would guess something along the lines of Sacred Realm or some such thing. You got Zelda looking women and Hero link armor....also you got the Triforce emblem. So ya, something pertaining to the sacred realm.
