Thread: Han zhi Shang MOD , Chinese Three Kingdoms

The mod is killed basically by the '???' on everything. Its no fun not knowing any of the unit descriptions or what the diplomacy says. The mod is a beauty, but there is also some russian like text in it as well :/

How are you going to know what is going on if the Chinese symbols are displayed? Unless you speak the language, of course.
If you do speak the language, then ask on that forum for someone to upload his data\fonts folder from the unpacked mod.

We can ask for a partial translation (names factions, units, buildings etc ...).

Then in the future there will be a more complete translation.

Sorry I am not very apt at the whole modding thing. I have no data\fonts folder after I unpacked the mod, where would I locate it if I were to ask for one in the Chinese forums? Also where would one find the CUF files you mentioned in an earlier post?

    Thanks for the help!

The CUF files are in the data\fonts folder and are part of the packed files (localized.pack I would think).
If your unpacked stuff disappears it's most likely a case of virtual store. Follow this tutorial as from step 3, delete the Med2 folder in the virtual store and then unpack using this method.

I think I might have misunderstood what you had meant when you said unpack. The mod was uploaded in a zip file and the installation process is just move the unzipped folder into the Kingdoms/mods folder and the game is ready to go. There are no files in the packs folder and I can't find any other .pack files in the mod. I did give full permission to the Medieval 2 folder but there was no Med2 folder in the virtual store.

HZS, since you are the "in the know" user with regards to this mod, would you mind helping me check to see if your copy of the mod has a data/fonts folder and CUF files? I could wait for the English version but being a Chinese Canadian I would love to enjoy this great mod in its native language. Thanks guys.

"Packed files" usually means from the original game installation. I should have been clearer. Ask a Chinese friend to unpack his game using the link I gave and then send you the data\fonts folder.

So just to be absolutely clear, I will have to find someone with a Chinese version of Medieval 2 and have them unpack all the .pack files and send me the data\fonts folder? The data\fonts file would be located in the Medieval 2 directory and not the mod directory is that correct?

    Thanks for all the help!

Nearly all of it is correct: partial (fast) unpacking can be done by using a BAT file in the tools\unpacker directory with this command:
    Code:
    unpacker.exe --source=..\..\packs\*.pack --destination=C:\Unpack --filter=*.cuf
Simply copy an existing BAT file in the unpacker directory and edit it by right clicking and choosing 'edit'. Replace the command line with the one above, save and then run it as usual by double clicking.
Only the CUF files will be unpacked and they will be in C:\unpack NOT in the game directory.

Hey! Good to hear that an English beta translation is out! Could someone upload the main mod to another place? Torrent maybe?
Hotfile makes me wait 30 mins for every download and the mod is split in whole lot of fragments.

Help appreciated and reps given to those who help.
