Add money cheat

I've been playing m2tw and i got really upset with the diplomacy. For no apparent reason everyone seems to enjoy attacking me and nobody would sign a peace treaty. I tried to search for force diplomacy cheats, but none seems to work, so i figured out that i could just add_money, use that money to "buy" ceasefires and than add_money "faction" -40000 to remove that money again. however that doesn't seem to work. i mean, i gave Egypt 100.000 florins for peace (it was more than they'd ask but since i thought i could just take it back i didn't care) and than i used the cheat <add_money "Egypt" -40000> and the console accepted it (it didn't say any error as it usually does when something's wrong) so i thought everything had worked out just fine. but than i passed my turn and i saw egypt as the nº1 financial rating. i checked the "factions ranking scroll" and they do have slightly above 100.000 florins... and now i just can't take them back. i can't use force diplomacy or add_money cheats to do anything about it. Is there any way to solve this? Am I writing the cheat wrong or is there any cheat that i can use to turn this around? 'cause the game won't just be the same having egypt (and milan btw) this wealthy...

Well, you wanted to cheat in the first place, now handle it mate. You can't remove other faction's money, and if it pisses you that they all attacked you, it was also your own fault, you built an economic empire, you signed trade rights treaties with half the world and expect 'em to not attack you? Simply don't sign treaties with your friend's enemies, don't forge alliences without considering the fact that you are taking positions, it's likely some will attack you, and don't go about leaving your allies without support, it's likely they will betray you if you do so.

The faction rankings scroll isn't always accurate, sometimes it can show you only progress until 10 turns ago for example and nothing of the current situation...

The cheat works, you can add/remove money from any faction, that's how some mods give more money to the AI factions.
But why did you give them 100k and remove only 40k?

The limit is 40k at a time for the money cheat. I'm guessing he was going to do 40, 40, 20.

Ah, so that's why when I add like 100k money to me I get a lot fewer then that? I remember it being a random-like number, I would have noticed if it always adds just 40k.

Nope, it always adds 40.000 if you add anything higher.

Well, i guess you're right... actually i never thought signing trade rights would decrease my rep. I'll be more careful about that in my next games.

Are you sure? I mean, i checked with my nation and it was accurate. i gave myself money just to confirm and the ranking went up in the next turn. The same when taking money away.

As PapaRosario and Lollsuck said, the limit is always 40.000. i was indeed going for 40+40+20

Trade rights decrease rep only when a war starts because the trade rights are broken (I don't know if it applies to attacker only or both).

I just got it (I think). Are you sure it didn't gave you error? What's the exact command you're using? Are you using quotes for the faction?? I never saw this way of using the command. I only knew this way and it 100% works: add_money egypt, -40000
The comma after the faction is needed.

i first tried add_money Egypt -40000 but it didn't recognise the faction. than i put the quotes and there were no errors.

i just find it really strange that no error occurred when i wrote it as i was doing
