    I find that BGR V has come out,but I don't know when.
    Is there any suggestion or advice for settings and choosing factions,SS warlords?
    (As a Chinese player,I also wonder whether my Chinese-version SS6.4 could setup BGR V or not,but BGR IV runs quite well.)
    I've also heard that BGR V has broken some players' morale.I wish I could survive

    to

    windowed=true
    borderless_window=true

    Now my game is not running in full screen, its just taking up about 2/3 of my screen, cant really play like that, but i would like to minimize the screen while AI is doing its turns.
    Anyone?

    I did make another thread posting these questions about SS, but that was before I saw this one. This is copied from it:

    First, will I be able to easily mod the files (primarily the unit stats) as easily as I have done with vanilla? I have already unpacked M2TW to mod the unit files and give the units a more realistic set of stats to play the game with. I am in the process of installing Kingdoms now (in prep for SS) and would like to know if the unit stats file is still easy to access and edit with SS installed?

    A more secondary question is about the early Vs late period options in the game. Could someone give me more information or if possible send me to a Q&A thread that explains what dates they start at, difference in units, difference in factions etc. which exists between the two.

    1、mods\SS6.3\data\export_descr_unit/building/trait/ancillary.text
    For units,just change export_descr_unit.txt. It works well.
    2、They are the same anyway. Early period gives you a lot of time building up settlements and expanding without battling with many factions(Many rebels).
    While in late period (1220),you are opening War Mode(Savage and Gracul AI) as you will fight against AI factions.You can get late units and historical events earlier(120 years early).Mongols and Aragon will be a playable faction in 1220. No other big differences.
    Personally,I think early is more peaceful building up and expanding,while late is more challenging ,conquer or die.

    Cheers for the reply. I shall probably play early mode as I like the building and expanding part of the game, but it gives me a further question...

    Have players been bothered with the poor quality of units available in the early game? For me, I like to build up, but I like to attack with the units I'm guessing are found in the latter stages of the game, I am hoping I do not grow impatient (though the game looks brilliant enough to ensure that doesn't happen!) waiting over 100 turns before I get some decent stocks of heavy inf and longbow etc.

    I know i have, thats why i mostly play the late campaign, plus you have about 400 - 450 turns ar your disposal, enough to try it all.

    I didn't know SS was in Chinese too. You mean Medieval 2?

    Yeah it was available.A Chinese expert player also made a edited SS submod,which made mongol invasion historically more authentic.

    Chinese players,though the number is small,always regret that there's not a map including East Asia's MainLand.However,we also admit it hard,because no Chinese player will buy rather than download for free.CA will fall in that way.

    Moreover,I don't know how to update photos and videos here.Moreover,I can't watch your updated videos.

    Here is a mod that was made for RTW:ALX but didnt get published on TWC because they uploaded the mod with modified exe, full game and what not. Anyways, the mod was ported to Medieval 2 engine by gigantus and it is set in China, so should enjoy it.

    I'm playing as England and I'm unable to recruit longbowmen.

    I have feudal foot knights, sergeant spearmen but no longbowmen. It's currently the year 1229 A.D.

    Edit: Also I have a woodsman guild in addition to all the non-Fortress archery buildings built. I can only recruit 'Archers' but nothing else. The rebels already have longbowmen as well in addition to the Mongolian Horde arriving.

    Edit #2: After looking at the events required in the files I'm going to assume my early tinkering with the timescale may of warped a few factors that haven't allowed events to trigger correctly. Though Genghis Khan and the Teutonic Order are roaming and pillaging just fine.

    To what value did you change the timescale, also what did you do to the aging script? Im not going to give you an answer myself since i know almost nothing about modding, but this will help others who know their stuff give you an answer.

    Btw great LP, its much more better than the others on i have seen on YT, but there are some things IMO that could be improved still.

    I seem to be getting an error with a white box and a yellow !, no words. This is occurring immediately after launching the game.

    When a unit has 8 defence does that mean it will be dead instantly when hit by an enemy unit with 10 attack?

    Nope, combat formulas are incredibly complicated. Nobody except for CA truly knows how they work.

    Thanks for the answer. Here's another one:

    Does fog influence enemy AI in any way?

    If you mean in battles, then no.
