k/t your previous post was about about the red reversed cone that appears by pressing shift. Am I supposed to know that green circles are called arrows or banners? o isn't ->, and a banner is a flag as far as I know, you could've said you were answering my question...
No, I come to this forum to develop them.
"your previous post was about about the red reversed cone that appears by pressing shift. Am I supposed to know that green circles are called arrows or banners?"
I mentioned red "sticks". The link clearly stated "green arrows". You were looking for a "green color". Take a chance on the mystery link!
A bit off-topic...
but I'm tempted to get empires to kill time until 7.0 (I've not played since 6.1).
If I did, which would be the "must have" mod that does for empires what Stainless Steel does for m2:tw?
Ask in the empires thread. You will get a better answer.
6.4 is closer to 7 than 6.1 or anything you will find for empires.
Darthmod is probably the ETW equivalent of SS in that it is a collection of smaller mods. That being said, 6.1 to 6.4 is pretty decent jump and I'd seriously recommend playing it.
Also, while I can't wait for 7.0 and am excited about it, from what I've seen of the previews so far I'm not sure 7.0 will be the massive ground breaking release that certain past releases were and I'm not sure it's worth holding off. (although clearly we haven't seen everything yet)
So what is the hardcoded general/region ratio? Everybody mentions its existence but nobody states what it actually is. And do girls in the family tree count toward it in any way?
Very roughly 1:1. Or so. Maybe.
No.
Greetings everyone,
Recently I've found a question about "how to enable unit banners on the battlefield" and there was an answer to change something in a file but no one actually said what needs to be changed and where exactly.
I hope you know what banners I'm talking about. During the battle there's only a small flag carried by one solider of each unit but I was thinking about a big banner which could be clearly visible even from a distance.
Something like this:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Is here anyone who could tell me what do I need to change and where?
Thank you in advance.
The answer is on the previous page. If you don't see it the first time, you will see it the second time because it will be in slightly bigger, harder-to-miss letters.
Is it possible to somehow increase the size of the battle? On some screens I can see about 200 troops per one squad ( I think ). I have something about 60 people per one squad. My computer can handle big battles. Is it just me or I can increase size of battles?
It's very easy to change in EDU:
The key to changing the unit size is the export_descr_units.txt file. It can be found in
Medieval II/data/__
or
any kingdoms/data/__.
You need to extract the .pack files using the extractor to see/view/edit these files. The .pack files containing the EDU.txt file can be found in \
Medieval II/packs (for Medieval II)
and
any kingdoms/packs for the kingdoms campaigns.
To extract them, simply use the Unpacker.bat files that is automatically installed with your game. The unpacker.bat files for each kingdoms can be found in:
Medieval II/tools/unpacker/___
After unpacking the .pack files for the kingdoms campaign of your choice, go into the any kingdoms/data/ directory and find your export_descr_unit file and open it.
Find the units you want to change, and you'll see an entry like this:
soldier spear_militia, 60, 0, 1.2
(credit to STELLover)
The number where 60 is is the one you change, as that's how many men are in the unit. The maximum number of men in a unit is 252 - this is hardcoded.
Thank you very much, but I have one big problem. My computer can't run Unpacker.bat because it can not find the MSCVP71.dll
What should I do now?
Sorry, but i can't find the button "Edit". One more question, maybe you have changed the size of the battle? So I wouldn't have to do it ( you could upload this somewhere?). Or if you don't have, maybe someone else on forum has?
You don't need to unpack anything if you're playing a mod and you want to make changes like that. Unpacking is necessary only if you want to mod M2.
"Just increase the unit size in the game settings."
This was the answer the guy was obviously looking for.
Greetings everyone!
Is there any way to activate some additional battle sounds like march of troops, tramp of horses, etc? I can clearly hear the sound of yelling, clash of arms, "rally of troops" or "charge" horn but that's it.
Thanks in advance.
Some questions:
1. I have 6.3, is it worth my time to upgrade?
2. Is VH/VH supposed to be unwinnable?
3. Playing as Crown of Castille, within first 12 turns I was attacked by: Portugal, Moors, France, England, HRE. Is that normal on VH/VH?
4. What is the difference between AI? I have Savage AI, which is most balanced?
If you have enabled the sounds in the games menu, than that should be everything turned on, AFAIK there are no sound mods for M2.
1.Yes, most submods are for 6.4
2.No, its actually not that much harder than M/M, its just that AI gets more bonus money/armies and your relations deteriorate faster with those who are not your allies.
3.You should try not to get excomd and ally at least one other neighbor.
